    Expectations for CES in 2024

Looking at a lot of the projections for CES, most of them expect an OPS of around .800 or so, a good amount of home runs (20-something is the usual projection), and an average amount of Ks.

I'm curious to hear what you all expect to see from him this year.

I expect him to hit ahead of Stephenson in the lineup, but Bell's spring training lineups have me questioning if that will happen.

.255 is too low. I consider .275 to be the minimum.

Hoping for 1965 Deron Johnson, thinking we'll see 1966 Deron Johnson though.

Worried a little about the K-rate. Light-tower power though and he’s hit at every level. I’m optimistic.

I agree with team leader in HR and RBI. I'm expecting something like .270/.335/.525

The biggest concern is that he'll sit too much. They have 4 OF who will be regulars against RHP, plus India who will get fairly regular time. Candy will lead the team in PAs. That means Marte/CES will be getting squeezed out.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

    Nah.

McLain and EDLC, if healthy, will get more, if only because they're likely to hit at the top of the order consistently.

Possibly, I think they'll get more days off though. I see candy starting 155 games, frequently at DH.

Just don't think Bell is going to do that.

He's really only said two guys have full-time jobs-- McLain and EDLC.

Everyone else seems to be part of a time-share, including Candelario.

I'm guessing McLain and EDLC will get somewhere around 600-650 PAs apiece, and everyone else will top out at around 550-575.

(Steer might be the third guy in that group, but I'm not sure he's as good as he looked last year.)

If the Reds give EDLC that many abs it will hurt the team. .

I think he’s going to struggle more than a lot of people expect. It’s hard to be a free swinger in MLB. I’m hoping for an .800 OPS

”He’s (Candelario) going to be an everyday player on our club,” said Krall on the day of the signing. “He is a switch-hitter, plays first and third. He has a great chance to make a big impact.”
