Sometimes it sounds like players really made a mistake and weren’t sure about they were taking. This one sounds to me like Marte knew exactly what he was taking and was blatantly cheating. Honestly, screw him. I hope they trade his ass next offseason.

Time heals all wounds. I hope he comes back and crushes it, other guys have gotten suspended and bounced back from it with little problem or serious reputation damage (Starling Marte comes to mind).

I don’t know - but this event could explain a number of Reds’ moves this off-season. If not, then it’s a favorable coincidence that Reds have other pretty good infield corner players available.

He was injured playing winter ball so he probably did it to heal faster.

Reds MGR David Bell was crestfallen by news of Noelvi Marte suspension, wouldn't speculate on how the infield shakes out now. "I believe in Noelvi Marte. He’s going to get through this. When he does come back he’s going to be welcomed back w/open arms and it’s going to be over."

Probably a dumb question but does a suspended player open a 40 man roster spot? Or just a 26 man roster spot?

From what I can tell, only a 26 man spot, but I can't find anything definitive. It's not a dumb question.

That’s a pretty weird rule. He can come back and help you get there but can’t play once you get there.

21-year-old kids make hella dumb mistakes, this one is a a costly one to him, alone... he didn't ruin anyone's life. For that you have to at least breath a sigh of relief
