I and others have already made this point.

In the other cases, the person who stole the money, was the celebrity’s accountant. They were solely in charge of the celebrity’s finances.

In this case, the person who stole the money is an interpreter. Ohtani had a team of agents, accountants, money managers who would have noticed $16M missing over many years.

If this guy had full access to Ohtani’s money, why did he have so much debt? Sounds like he had limits to how much money he could access. What exactly were those limits?

I'd suggest to read FED filing at least once, you can find lots of info there.

In any case, for stealing money theory, the detail can be found in FED report: https://ca-times.brightspotcdn.com/0...-complaint.pdf

For pay-off theory, the following are what I gathered so far from the supporters of this theory in this thread. Let me post the list and a question again:

So far the pay-off theory is Ohtani had known Mizuhara's gambling addiction and helped to pay his debt off. They thought of the whole thing to not leave any trail for Ohtani including:

    • Ohtani was willing to allow Mizuhara to transfer money from Ohtani's account since November 2021 because Ohtani trusted him.
    • Ohtani and Mizuhara used burner phones to communicate anything related to Ohtanis' bank account so FED can't find any evidence in Ohtani's phone.
    • Have Mizuhara to falsely identify himself as Ohtani when talking to bank in order to not leave any trail of Ohtani while willing to risk being caught by the bank and having whole thing blown up.
    • Use a burner gmail account for Ohtani's bank account which isn't in any of Ohtani's record or phone.
    • Use Mizuhara's email for Ohtani's bank account because Ohtani trusted him.
    • When Mizuhara lost bets, use Ohtani's bank account to pay the debt. But when Mizuhara won bets, transfer the winning money to Mizuhara's own bank account in the last few years. All of these because Ohtani was generous and he trusted Mizuhara.

By pay-off theory, Ohtani worked with Mizuhara in the last few years to not leave any trail including to remember using burner phones every time they communicated regarding Ohtani's bank account. After putting so much effort and be super careful for the last few years that FED can't find any evidence of Ohtani's inovlvement, why did Mizuhara not tell the cover up stealing money story (according to pay-off theory) when first contacted by ESPN through Ohtani's newly hired spokesman?

There were plenty of time to re-group before responding to ESPN, Mizuhara wasn't interrogated by FED then, nothing was reported yet at that time, but he told the so called truth of pay-off story (by pay-off theory) directly even though they put in so much effort preparing for it and to wipe out any trail of Ohtani's involvement in last 2 and half years?
If anyone supporting pay-off theory can help to answer the question and update anything missing from the list, it'd be great.

I've read a great deal of that PDF posted here on RZ. It is very informative. After reading it, I posted the questions I still have

Strange, you probably missed it in the FED report. It's in page 11 where Mizuhara stated he could only send 500K per week. Later 500K per week was brought up in his text conversion between the bookmaker few times as well.

Also, Mizuhara wasn't a good customer and kept delaying the payment to the point the bookmaker started to make threats (page 14).

I definitely noticed what you mentioned in your second paragraph.

So this guy has been taking $500K/mo from Ohtani for 3 yrs or so? Three years ago Ohtani was making a gross of $3mill/yr. Two yrs ago he was making $5.5mill. He was making the MLB minimum prior to that. Of that $3mill, he'd be really lucky to clear $2mill. You mean to tell me that no one missed that kind of dough missing? $6 mill/yr missing and no one's missing it. I don't get it. That makes no sense to me. I'm sure he's got a lot in endorsement deals now but 3 yrs ago? $6mill seems like a big hole to not notice

I'd suggest you to read FED doc one more time. All these questions are answered there. Of course, people can choose whether to accept the answers in the FED report, but it'd be great to read it carefully once first: https://ca-times.brightspotcdn.com/0...-complaint.pdf

it was the 2014 NFL Rookie Symposium where Cris Carter told them:

“If you all got a crew, you got to have a fall guy in the crew,” Carter said.
“If you all have a crew, one of those fools got to know, he’s the one going to jail.
    We’ll get him out.”

Yyou got to have your fall guy...

Funny you mentioned Chris. I used to play basketball (yes he was good at that too) against him, at Middletowns Sunset Park. He never said what you said, at the park, though he was a trash talker. lol

No reason for him to say it at a park pickup game.... He said it
when speaking to NFL rookies, wearing his Hall of Fame jacket....

It's true over every sport in certain situations....

Oh, I knew that Steve. I was joking and that’s why I put lol at the end, because he obviously wouldn’t say that during a pick up game. My apologies if you thought I was mocking you or didn’t believe you.

If he can continue to produce any where near like he has this season, and come back to produce as a pitcher, he has a chance to go down as the GOAT!

Ohtani, Ohtani, Ohtani... Cincinnati’s Phil Ervin went 6-6 at Colorado in 2019 and nobody ever talks about that
