Let us recap Victor Robles’ 2024 journey, which as far as anyone can tell, is unprecedented:

May 27: Designated for assignment by Washington Nationals.

June 1: Released by Nationals while guaranteed the balance of his $2.65 million salary.

June 4: Signs with Seattle Mariners, who owe him only the prorated portion of the $740,000 minimum.

Aug. 12: Agrees to two-year, $9.75 million extension with Mariners that includes a $9 million club option for 2027.

If anyone can think of a player who received an extension from one team 73 days after being released by another, please contact The Athletic’s Jayson Stark immediately.

Don't think it is controversial or political to say that a suspension was warranted.

You can't have players cussing out fans, flipping the bird to fans, or using any sort of flagrant epithet. Either of the "F" words fully apply to the above analysis

Strangest thing was the heckling was very tame.

A Houston fan was giving him the business saying he needed a tennis racket to hit with.

I thought it was a mild slap on the wrist suspension like they wanted to give lip service to it

the St Louis Post-Dispatch sports writers, unhappy with their team, included interesting statistics. the Cardinals have hit only 20 home runs this year with runners on, tied with last with the White Sox, and Goldschmidt has only three extra base hits with runners on.

Billionaire MLB owner accused of stealing sand from wealthy Calif. beach

Billionaire Milwaukee Brewers owner Mark Attanasio has allegedly been stealing sand from an exclusive Southern California beach to use on a personal construction project at his home, according to a lawsuit filed last week in Los Angeles.

Attanasio’s next-door neighbor along Malibu’s Broad Beach filed the lawsuit against the MLB owner after gathering video and photographic evidence of excavators operating in a tidal zone and bringing sand from the public beach to Attanasio’s property.
