Re: My 1977 inside pitch Reds Replay

The Royals defeat Baltimore 4 game to 3.
Dennis Leonard wins 2 games gets MVP

He will be eligible to pitch the world series game 1.

Philly beats LA 3 games to 2. Despite being out homered out scored and getting nothing from Schmidt.
Carlton wins 2 games. Longborg wins game 5.

Carlton won't be eligible to pitch till game 3.

I used as played lineups for Philly and LA.
I will have to come up with lineups for the world series .
Will update in a week or so.

Re: My 1977 inside pitch Reds Replay

Update on pitchers after checking actual dates the playoffs and world series was played.
I got it backwards. Carlton can pitch game 1 on 3 days rest. However Dennis Leonard can not. He would be on 2 days rest.
So pitching matchups will be as follows.
    Game 1. Carlton vs. Splitorff
    Game. 2 Longborg vs. Leonard
    Game 3. Christensen vs. Colburn
Will be likely using a 3 man rotation. Might use a 4th guy if his team is up 3 game to 0. So possibly Kaat or Hassler

So they played the 1980 World Series in 1977. I wish it had really been this way in 1977. I hated the Yankees and Dodgers. Same for 78 too.

Isn't it spelled Lonborg? Interesting pitcher - a Cy Young for Boston and then years later pitched well for the Phillies. He also had some tough years, in 77 he was 11-4 but only made 25 starts - today that would've been worth a 25 million payday.

    Game 5 1977 World Series.
    Royals 11 Phillies 2

Leonard wins it. His 2nd world series win. Including the ALCS he has thrown 34 and a 3rd innings allowed 5 ER and is 4-0. If there is a game 7. He will be available for 2-3 innings of relief on 2 days rest.

Lonborg gets hammered again and takes his 2nd series loss.

Brett 3 for 5. 2 HR 4 RBIs he is now 12-22 with 4 HRs in the series.
    Cowens 3 for 5. 2 RBIs
    Porter 2 for 4 HR 3 RBIs

Schmidt 1 for 3 HR BB RBI his 3rd series HR. The stars are preforming.

Game 6 back in KC Larry Christensen vs. Lary Gura.
I decided to go with Lefty Gura over righty Colburn.
The Phillies lineup and defense is a little weaker vs. LHP.
