Could you imagine if there was a RedsZone, and this were the case back in 1977?
It'd be full blown panic mode. Sparky would've been tarred and feathered on here. Bench and Morgan would've been on the trading block.

Never heard of it but I may look around online for it now. I lived out in the country back then ( 3hour drive from Cincy) and parents weren't into ballgames so basically the only Reds i knew were Marty & Joe and an occasional TV game. Alot of the Reds memorabilia from the time span, I do not have.
I appreciate the info as I will definitely look for this now.
In a side note from years gone by.... my room was filled with George Foster baseball cards but my mother had no clue who he was. One night, I was in my room and heard her call my name and say "Do you know a baseball player named George Foster ?"
At 11 years old, my heart sank because i knew she was going to tell me something bad she just saw on the news.
    I said "yeah".
She went on to tell me she was reading Inspirational book of some sort and she said there was an article on him in there.
You talk about a sigh of relief.

This book looks like a nice read !
I just finished the book. It is a good book for a Reds fan. Especially one who lived during that time. It pretty detailed about what happened to the Reds that season. Lot of things I had forgot about. They did have truly terrible pitching. It's a wonder they won 88 games. Also the team was torn apart with some dissension. Fryman and Eastwick were two that just were not happy from the start of the season.

I didn't need the internet in 1977 to be in a full blown panic.

Hoerner was one of the worst Reds pitchers I have ever seen. Apparently he is really bad in your replay game too.

I hated him in 1977. I remember that my late mother did too, she also wasn't fond of Clay Carroll. Seeing Hoerner blow the game in your replay just gave me nice memories. (I know, I'm weird).

Hoerner was actually a player/coach at AAA when the Reds added him to the big club. I think that showed how desperate they were for any live body that could throw a pitch.
