Hey Keefe, Have you got this book on the 77 Reds and George Foster. I am about 1/4 of the way through it now. It seems pretty good. I would think any Reds fan from that time like we are would like this book.

No but I'll definitely be buying it now. Thanks.
I have a Foster book from around 1978. It's a autobiography if I remember correctly. Been a long time since I read it. It was one of the first Reds books I ever bought. I can't remember if it was late 77 or early 78. I was at a game where they gave away George Foster mini black bats.

I use to play APBA baseball dice game from 1976 till 1988. I kept up with every trade in real life. Played every single game. Kept stats and it took me 12 years to finally see the Reds win a world series. Now they have computer games for APBA! OOTP etc.. would have made it easier on me keeping stats and the score sheets I went thru

Re: My 1977 inside pitch Reds Replay

    1977 MLB All star game
    NL 3 AL 2 10 innings.

I was able to use every player on both teams as I usually try to do. Except Frank Tanana who was listed as injured.

Top first Morgan singles with one out Parker forced Morgan at 2B.
But Foster hit a 2 run HR.

Bottom 1 Carew hits a leadoff HR.
    Randolph triples.
George Brett Flys out to CF. Foster guns down Randolph at home.

Bottom 2nd with one out Reggie Jackson reaches on a throwing error by Bench.
Fisk doubles home Jackson to tie the game at 2.

For the next 7 innings neither team scores.
Top 10 Montanez hits a leadoff HR off Lyle.

Bottom 10 with one out Jason Thompson triples.
Money pops up to Stearnes at home plate.
Nettles walks. But Suter strikes out Rupert Jones to end the game.

Andujar wins it. Suter saves it. Lyle takes the loss.

Up next to be played Friday. A rare 3 game Thursday-Saturday series in Pittsburgh.
    Norman vs. Ruess
    Seaver vs. Candelaria
    Capilla vs. Rooker

Thanks for sharing this info. George Foster was my favorite Red growing up. I was old enough to get into baseball around 1978 so I missed the 1977 season. Like most kids, I had a few posters up on my wall but I didnt have any baseball posters so I took a bunch of my George Foster baseball cards and "taped" to my wall . This book looks like a nice read !

Do you have the book from I believe 1978? I think it's just called the George Foster story. I bought it in the 70s at the old 580 gift shop. I have it somewhere here. Would have to look for it. I don't remember much about it. Been 45 years since I read it.
