I took a glance at some rosters in the Pioneer League. Carter Raffield was a 14th round pick back in 2021. He signed for $125,000 but never appeared in a minor league game, presumably due to injuries. He managed to pitch in a few games for the Glacier Range Riders. Things did not go well.
Also having pitched in the Pioneer League this season is Carson Lambert. The undrafted free agent from last year spent a little less than 3 weeks in the organization. This year he pitched for the Oakland Ballers and was 2nd on the team in innings pitched.

Raisel Iglesias, after many years of pitching, finally has had a decline in his K rate to 8.87 (10.76 lifetime). But he’s compensated, walking 1.58 per nine and allowing .39 homers per nine innings. Ground ball rate improved to 43.8%. Still closing out games for Atlanta, this year with 24 saves and 2 blown saves. Lifetime has 214 saves and 31 blown saves. Reds medical staff (presumably) gets kudos for deciding to move Iglesias to pen when he was injured as a starter.

116 OPS+ and 9 WAR since leaving the Reds. All on the team-friendly deal he originally signed with them.

And last season Nick Senzel was the Reds primary 3B...

Have they been infected by some kind of collective insanity? There's 30 teams in MLB that would like to have Sonny in their rotation.

Got to see one-time Reds discard Cionel Perez last week. He's carrying a 3.75 ERA and he's got a 2.86 across three seasons for the Orioles. He's still a little wild, but his 97-98 MPH sinker is evil. I assume that thing shatters your hands if you make contact with it in cold weather.

Since the beginning of July, Eugenio Suarez is slashing .318/.364/.647 for an OPS of 1.011

But how many Ks? A lot of folks here wanted him gone due to strikeouts. Many of the same one criticize Elly for that same reason.

Geno is the canary in the coal mine that somehow escaped.

Geno was on the hot list of trade contenters back then, since 7-1 he's hit in 287 PA's .317/.362/.641/1.003 with a .345 BABIP

His K rate in that time is 24%, an outlier to his career.

And that's the magic behind those numbers, he's 32... imagine what a 22-year-old De La Cruz could be like with a 24% K rate

Redszone ran Edwin Encarnacion out of town because of his Defense, even though he was a career .825+ OPS-er during his first 1000 PA's (doing this by memory).

EdE didn't get run out of town by anyone. He couldn't play 3B, the Reds had Votto at 1B and the NL didn't have a DH. Very happy for him that he found himself more than two years and two releases after he left the Reds. The Reds traded him for Scott Rolen, who was a key component of two division wins (literally the only things the Reds have won in the 21st century).

Encarnacion had a .793 OPS for the Reds, which translates to a 103 OPS+. Over the span of essentially four full seasons with the Reds he had a 3.2 WAR, dragged down significantly because he was atrocious in the field at 3B.
