Sounds like Stephenson is healthy enough to play, which is good news.

    A guess on Livan Soto.

Candy had trouble at third base in the 8th yesterday. Candy may not be fully healthy, recently was out, may be having trouble with infield defense.

Livan/Espinal can cover third base until Marte returns with Candy at first or DH. Wouldn’t be surprised if Livan/Espinal platoon at third for awhile, beginning in the next series.

Not a specific transaction but maybe a indicator of one tomorrow - Levi Jordan was removed from the Bats lineup early in the game today for unknown reasons, and according to the Bats radio broadcast, was receiving handshakes in the dugout shortly after.

I would not be surprised to see Steer moving to LF full time and Benson being sent down.

Or, maybe Benson is going to the I.L.. Just read this on some site called RotoBaller:
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Will Benson left Sunday's game against the Boston Red Sox after he took a 97 MPH fastball off of his left elbow. He initially stayed in the game to run the bases but exited once the Reds took the field defensively. Benson will likely head for X-rays after the game to see the extent of the injury.

Benson doesn't have options. To get to Louisville, he would need to pass through waivers, which wouldn't happen.

X rays came back negative but he could still get a stint for a "Deep Bone Bruise" or the like.

Ironic that the ball hit Benson since Benson can't seem to hit the ball.

The Reds have placed TJ Friedl on the IL with the hamstring injury that he tried to play through.

On Saturday, David Bell said there was some risk in having Friedl play, but Bell, Friedl and the training staff decided that he could keep going.

Now, a setback puts him on the IL.

The Reds call up utility player Levi Jordan, who was hitting .302 in Triple-A. During the offseason before the Reds took him in the minor league Rule 5 draft, he was weighing taking a coaching offer at Washington.

Today, he’ll make his big league debut.

Frankie Montas walked by as Jordan told the story and said, “You’re not coaching now. You’re in the big leagues.”

Guess Nick left some of his stuff for TJ in the clubhouse

06/24/24 Cincinnati Reds placed CF TJ Friedl on the 10-day injured list. Right hamstring strain.

06/24/24 Cincinnati Reds selected the contract of SS Levi Jordan from Louisville Bats.

    Re: Cincinnati Reds 2024 Transactions

In 2023 the Reds had many pitching injuries and minor league or borderline type pitchers filling out the roster.

In 2024 the Reds have many position player injuries and minor league or borderline type position players filling out the roster.

One could argue that these vacancies, and the manner in which Reds have filled them, have caused Reds fewer wins than they might have achieved.

This raises questions about the Redsí programs for keeping players healthy, especially in the off-season and pre-season. Itís hard to avoid injuries in the regular season on the field of play.

It also raises questions whether the Reds need to up their payroll to provide better fill-ins when important injuries occur.
