Tough loss, but love the never say die attitude of these Reds.

The bats have been an issue all season so far. Only a couple guys clicking at any given time. Steer was due to revert to the mean and with him in the middle there is no one to support Elly when he gets on until someone else steps up.

The schedule gets hard now... it's time for our bats to wake up.

Starting pitching NEEDS to go further into games, or this bullpen is going to be decimated. And the offense needs to wake up. Why not put Fairchild in the leadoff spot? India isn't cutting it.

You can't expect a whole out out of the offense with basically three starters out. This team is going to struggle at times to score until they get a couple of those guys back.

True, hopefully when Friedl comes back, that will give the offense a boost.
I'm honestly not sure if Marte coming back is going to matter. Are the Reds going to sit Elly, Candelero, or India enough to give him significant time? (I'm guessing he could play 2b as least as good as India, although I can't recall him ever playing 2b).
McClain, I'm not really counting on him to play well at all when he comes back. Really serious injury. I mean, I am sure he will try, but I'm not sure we can count on him to really boost the offense.

It would have been nice to have a RH bat off the bench for situations like Ty Steve's pinch hit appearance.
Reds have a pretty tough schedule coming up, hopefully , they aren't buried in the standings by the time Friedl comes back.

Offense is going to struggle as you said.
Starting pitching is not that great, IMO. It's definitely not bad, but not exactly a strength. (I know others will disagree). I think realistically, we can't expect Greene to take a big step forward this year.. He's a MOR guy. We really need Montas to bounce back from that last bad start he had. The bullpen has been great, but it's on pace to be burned out in August/Sept, just like last year (although there is more depth this year to buffer that).
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Key to a successful season is if you happen to lose a series, don’t get swept.
