    Enjoying the Cincinnati Reds

I am from Connecticut and have never been to Cincinnati, but I determined to listen to the Reds this season. I don't know how I would define the difference but the Central Division of both Leagues seem to have a different ethos than that of the East. I am listening to and scoring from the gameday radio broadcasts of the Reds and the Tigers and I find thesse broadcasts to be very rewarding. I still listen to the Mets in the NL Eastern Division but my first choicet his far into the season is the Cincinnati Reds. I have been especially poeased with the quality of the Reds radio broadcasters I send my best wishes to all other Reds fans and I do hope the 2024 season will be a successful and enjoyable one for all.

Welcome to RZ. I would love to see our Redlegs match the success of that college basketball team you have up your way.

I did my B.A. at UConn back in 1968 and we had pretty good basketball teams. My problem was a simple one: I did not have any interest in basketball. One of the fellow in my dorm was on the team aned I went one evening to see the game. The others suggesteed I not go in future since I never seemed to know when to cheer. We did watch the Red Sox games now and then and I felt more at home with baseball. A lot of people around here are very interested in basketball and that's fine for them, but not for me. I also am troubled when big business (every big sports business) makes serious introads into the work of the instiuttions of higher learning. I also did a graduate degree at Yale, and I felt the same way then.

As a university professor, I couldn't agree more.

I didn't go to the "instiuttion" at Yale. What is a "introad"?

I'd say typos. We all make them.

I wasn't born in Cincinnati, though I have been to Bellefontaine, Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri, easily the best cemetery I've ever been to.

    Re: Enjoying the Cincinnati Reds

I just noticed my typographical error in my message from some time ago. It is somewhat pleasant to know that people acutally read these emails with such intensity. As anotherr reader suggested, it was simply an error, I added a "t" to "inroads." If it is any excuse, I should say that I am going to be 78 years old in October and while my eyesight is generally pretty good, I do have trouble typing on a computer. I also have a heretofore mild case of Parkinson's Disease. So, sorry about this mistake. My poor typing does not hinder me from enjoying audio broadcasts of baseball games, fortunately.

With all good wishes to everybody.
