I don't think that would bring much positive value to the experience.

When they're using a completely pre-recorded lead vocal, like Henley is clearly doing, then what is the point of the live performance? Other than for the artist to make money, of course.
Yes.. especially for newer bands, they are on smaller budgets. If they can't afford to bring that horn or cello player on the road, it's fine to have recorded those parts. I'm ok with recorded background vocals too. Especially since some artists sing their own background vocals on the records, so it's impossible to do that live.
But man, the lead singer should sing. The guitarists and drummers should play their insturments.
Anything else is dishonest, IMO. If Henley can't sing anymore, they should have either gotten a new singer or just stop touring.

I’m not a fan of lip syncing and certainly wouldn’t want to pay big money to see that. If the artist can’t hit the notes they used to, then sing the song in an octave they can hit the notes. Cover bands do that all the time.

As some who plays guitar and sings (not a great singer, but I don’t care), I don’t want to see live music that sounds 100 percent like their album. IMHO, live performances are meant to be different, so give the people whatever you’ve got NOW, even if it’s in a different key than 1977.

You probably sing better than Henley does now, Jim. Do you have a favorite Eagles' song ?

Not an Eagles tune, but "Boys of Summer" is really Henley's vocal tour de force. It starts at a comfortable spot and just keeps getting higher and higher. It's a very good day when I can get on top of that final verse, but Hensley was able to just float it in there with no audible effort.

And now he can do it with no effort at all.

Sounds like you all really like Dirty Laundry

I guess my first question is how often does this happen? I know Henley wasn't the first and I doubt he is the last. I enjoy the Eagles, however I'm not about to pay whatever ungodly sum they are charging these days for a ticket to see them live.

Don Henley does have a history of being an ass, so maybe he is getting what he deserves.

The way I see it is that fans are shelling out ungodly sums to hear groups like the Eagles and they want to hear them like they remember them. Does anyone want to hear Don Henley's voice crack trying to reach a high note? I admit it would be amusing but not if I'm there paying that kind of money. That's probably why they have the guys who play with them play their stuff note for note.

The irony of ironies.... back in 2018 when Henley Vanilli started doing his lip sync routines, Milli Vanilli(Fab Morvan) was out there actually singing live. Henley, take a lesson from Milli Vanilli and open up those pipes :
