So... what do we think of Dominic Pitelli? Yet another SS who's playing really well. Up to .305 in AA with some speed (17SB overall) and extra base power (13 doubles, 5 triples and 3hrs at A and AA combined). In watching a couple of the games recently he's also got a really good feel for SS.

And just drafted last year. The Reds like him, for sure, to advance him that quickly.

Pitelli was a 7th round pick out of the University of Miami and they have a pretty solid program. He had a .900 OPS his daft year with double digit HR and SB(13 & 10). Getting a solid SS like that out of a major conference that late is a result of last year's unusually stacked draft. His fielding % looks rock solid so far in pro ball(.974 in 44 games at SS) and he's also played some 3B and 2B. He made a pretty big jump from A to AA and so far in 68 AA PA has a very respectable 6 to 11 BB to SO rate. Looks like a good one so far and another potential feather in the cap of the Reds drafts in recent years which have been pretty excellent since 2021.

Honestly just opened this thread to ask the same thing. Didn't even warrant a mention in Fangraphs prospect wrap-up. Obviously needs to prove it over more PAs but it's hard not to very impressed with the numbers, lots of guys in his situation or age bracket might still just barely be above water in A or A+.
I dont care, Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. Hes in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.

When he was first moved up, I thought it was a temporary assignment because the Lookouts needed a SS and Balcazar was not ready to move up. Pitelli is making the most of the move and looks as if he belongs at this level.
