Minor league game thread 5/17/24 thursday

LOUISVILLE GAME ONE RECAP - The Bats are playing 2 today.....errrr....were scheduled to play 2 today. They didn't bother showing up for Game 1, coming out on the short end of things, 9-3.

    The pitching was putrid.
    Brett Kennedy got shelled.
Evan Kravetz got shelled (albeit for 1 of the few times here in '24.
Andrew Moore got nicked for a run (unearned) on a walk and a hit. Young needed 25 pitches to navigate through his inning of adventure.

The hitting was only marginally better.
    Livan Soto singled and walked.
    Edwin Rios walked twice.
Hernan Perez doubled and homered (5).

In the field, the Bats committed 3 errors.

In the clutch, they went a collective 0 for 10 w/RISP.

LOUISVILLE GAME TWO - Things are proceeding much better in Game 1 into the 4th inning. Louisville is up 4-0.

Randy Wynne has shut down opposition batters for 3+ innings so far. It is the middle of May, and Wynne has yet to give up an earned run.

Levi Jordan has cracked a 2-run shot (3).
Nick Martini has singled and doubled.
Hernan Perez has singled and gone deep (6). It is his second on the day as he also homered in today's opener.

I like watching the Dayton Dragons. They look like they know what they are doing and what is expected. Watching Collier, who reminds me of Red Sox 3B Devers, Stewart, Allen and Rodriquez..
