So many everyday players missing....McLain, Friedl, Marte, CES, Steer.

Ford, Espinal, and Hurtubise wouldn't even be on the team, let alone the starting lineup. India and Benson would have lessor roles.

I hope some of this group starts coming back soon. This lineup is a shell of itself, and it's getting old.

Not much they can do when they are this shorthanded, but I'd stick India at DH, Ford at 1B, Espinal at 2B and Candy at 3B. A fat dude who can't move at 1B is less harmful than a fit dude who can't move at 2B.

I hope it doesn't reach the point where I'm longing for the days of that Wil Myers , Jason Vosler lineup. It's getting almost as bad.

Time to start a winning streak. Hurtubise gets it rolling by reaching base 3 times tonight and scoring twice.
I really wish they would either stick Hurtubise or Capel in there and let them get a run of consecutive starts. Both give good ABs from what little I've seen of them. Capel in limited major league ABs has an above average OBP. and this team definitely needs more guys on base.
What do they have to lose? Give one of them or both a string of starts. They might actually be able to at least draw some walks.

They sent Capel back down and brought Martini back up.

Joe Musgrove, another mediocre pitcher that the Reds will make look like Cy Young.

Love Hurtibise instead of Benson at the top.

Joe Musgrove has had a rough start to season but he isn’t mediocre. Look at what he has done since 2020.

Didn't know. Glad Martini is back. But they need a RH OFer badly. Wish they would've gotten one instead of Ford.

It's obvious, too, that the Reds don't have a leadoff hitter, and so they're not trying someone they just called up. Becuase we're a small market team (or the owners refuse to put anymore into the payroll), our "best" guys are like some other teams's bench guys.

I have a good feeling about tonight

I’ll say the Reds score 3-4 early runs and Abbott makes them stand up.

    Why?
Benson is an all-or-nothing hitter that’s been mostly nothing….and poor baserunning instincts.
