The Reds starting pitchers have done a helluva job so far this season.

I've been impressed with their ability to go deep into the game like tonight

Abbott could have realistically pitched the 8th

Great game by Abbott. Much needed win.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Probably pacing his workload so he won't hit a wall too early before the end of the season

Yes that's what happened last August and September.

Been watching the game delayed on MLB so I could see it from the start. Abbott, who seems underrated by many, just keeps on keeping on. His mental approach is the best we have on the mound. He seems to have a plan and not much gets to him.

Listening to Lance McAlister’s Extra Innings show. The fastest pitch Abbott threw was 93.2 miles per hour.

yep, Abbott is proof that you can still be effective with control and movement. Guy knows how to pitch.

Not to mention that soft tossers can often have longer careers. I forget which Atlanta pitcher is was, but they said he had 3 speeds, slow, slower and slower.
