Velvet underground- Heroin (Lou Reed singing about how much he likes heroin - it’s my life and it’s my wife

Bonnie Prince Billy - on one album “I see a darkness” there are the following songs: I see a darkness, death to everyone, and another day full of dread.

    Stereolab - Laissez Faire
(It will come to us as a shock
    But we're letting it happen
    People with their carelessness
    Governments with their laissez faire

    The western world is going
More and more right wing yearning
    For some sort of protection
    Too scared to do anything)

Stereolab - tomrrow is already here (Originally this set up was to serve society, now the roles have been reversed, that want society to serve the institutions)

Radiohead - Let Down ( One day I am gonna grow wings, a chemical reaction, Hysterical and useless, Let down and hanging around, Crushed like a bug in the ground)

King of Oklahoma - Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit

Stark lyrics. I think this guy is phenomenal.

DISCLAIMER: This is not a song I liked. Just think any thread about disturbing songs has to include at least one from the Prince of Disturbing, Mr. Warner, better known to us as Marilyn Manson.

Of course, I could have randomly chosen any one song from his catalogue and gotten a disturbing morsel. But I'll go with "President Dead," a song about the Kennedy assassination.

    "Fun" Facts :

The song is exactly 3 minutes, 13 seconds long; frame 313 of the Zapruder film is the precise moment Kennedy is shot. Marilyn Manson has only ever performed this song live once – in Dallas, TX .

President Dead is clueless, and he's
    Caught in a headlight, police-state
God, and his skull is stained glass
Incubated and jet set, the bitter
Thinkers buy their tickets to go find
God like a piggy in a fair
And we don't wanna live forever
And we know that suffering is so much better
This is for the people, they want you
This is for the people, they want you
This is for the people, they want you
    (Getting high on violence, baby)
Its the mathematical potential for a single game to last forever, in a suspended world where no clock rules the day, that aligns baseball as much with the dead as the living.
    ---- Bill Vaughn

"Science adjusts its views based on what's observed. Faith is the denial of observation so that belief can be preserved." ---Tim Minchin("Storm")

Can pretty much include 80% of all songs released by British or Irish groups from 1980 to 87.

I'd like to submit every punk rock song ever, but Angry Samoans are the only band that I know of that sung about gouging your eyes out (as a sane and reasoned reaction to the modern world).

There's also the subject of evil, or in this case "Evil". Just your standard song about married serial killers.

Did she or didn't she push her teenage tormentor off a bridge?

Eve of Destruction - Barry McGuire

I keep thinking things are getting worse but this song is from almost 60 years ago (and yes, I have the 45).
