All Reds All Star Team from 2010-Current

To get the topic off of a very depressing May, what is your All Reds All Star lineup & pitching staff from 2010 to now?

    Lineup:

    1. Shin Shoo Choo CF
    2. Brandon Phillips 2B
    3. Joey Votto 1B
    4. Nick Castellanos LF
    5. Elly De La Cruz SS
    6. Eugenio Suarez DH
    7. Jay Bruce RF
    8. Scott Rolen 3B
    9. Ramon Hernandez C

    Bench:

    Scooter Gennett
    Todd Frazier
    Ryan Hanigan
    Zack Cozart
    Billy Hamilton (Def/PR)

    Rotation:

    1. Johnny Cueto
    2. Luis Castillo
    3. Trevor Bauer
    4. Sonny Gray
    5. Bronson Arroyo

    Bullpen:

    Jonathan Broxton
    Michael Lorenzen
    Nick Masset
    Arthur Rhodes
    Raseul Iglesias
    Aroldis Chapman

Kinda wild how hard it is to find OFs. A productive front office would make it a priority to find power hitting OFs to play in GABP. Suarez hit 49 bombs one year. The bullpen guys all had their woes at times. Votto was a generational talent who deserved more. Would’ve loved to have Choo & Castellanos longer. This rotation is down right disgusting. Could’ve added Mike Leake or Mat Latos. But Bronson was as dependable as it gets.

    Wily Mo Peña for Arroyo
    Josh Hamilton for Jose Guillen
    Edwin Encarnacion for Scott Rolen

Three of the biggest trades in my memory. There haven’t been many.

Will never forget the Felipe Lopez, Austin Kearns, & Billy Wagner trade.. to the Nats for Gary Majewski, Bill Bray, Royce Clayton..+ Brendan Harris, & Daryl Thompson (minor leaguers)

Oh Jim Bowden you were a jewel. Why can’t us Reds fans have nice things? I digress….

My bench would have McLain, Friedl and maybe Stephenson on it.

I'm not sure if we are going by their entire career in those 10 years or just peak year.
If we're doing peak year, I'd consider Ludwick and Mesorocco for the bench .. but if we are going by their entire tenure.. no.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

I’ve never seen anyone hate Francisco Cordero so hard.

Re: All Reds All Star Team from 2010-Current

Presuming I can only use a player once, here's approximately what my roster would look like:

    C 2014 Devin Mesoraco
    1B 2017 Joey Votto
    2B 2011 Brandon Phillips
    3B 2014 Todd Frazier
    SS 2017 Zack Cozart
    LF 2020 Jesse Winker
    CF 2013 Shin-Soo Choo
    RF 2012 Jay Bruce
    DH 2021 Nick Castellanos
    C 2017 Tucker Barnhart
    IF 2010 Scott Rolen
    IF 2023 Matt McLain
    OF 2023 T.J. Friedl
    OF 2016 Adam Duvall
    SP 2020 Trevor Bauer
    SP 2014 Johnny Cueto
    SP 2019 Sonny Gray
    SP 2021 Wade Miley
    SP 2019 Luis Castillo
    CL 2012 Aroldis Chapman
    SU 2022 Alexis Diaz
    SU 2016 Raisel Iglesias
    MR 2013 Tony Cingrani
    MR 2020 Tejay Antone
    MR 2018 Jared Hughes
    MU 2019 Michael Lorenzen

edit: This year's De La Cruz would replace McLain. Andrew Abbott, Hunter Greene, and Tyler Stephenson could all make my roster after this season is done.

After thinking about it, since it's an allstar team, I'd probably take Masset out of the bullpen and put someone like Leake or Latos in as a long man/swing starter . Other than that , the original post is pretty spot on.

The more difficult task would be to make a hacking mass lineup out of the dreck we’ve seen in that same time span.

Look at tonight's line-up and replace a couple of the better guys with Willy Taveras, Corey Patterson and Jose Peraza.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!
