I can't believe I'm saying this but Elly needs to be dropped down in the order.

Freddy Peralta's a quality arm, but at least he's a righty.

78 career innings against the Reds with a 2.88 ERA and 102 Ks. In two starts against the Reds last year, he K’d 19 in 12 scoreless innings.

We’ll need Hunter’s best effort tonight.

    It’s Greene Day.

I agree. He hasnít hit well since April, yet here we are. Hope that changes soon.

    Go Reds!

    Re: 6-14-24 Reds @ Brewers 8:10 PM

    Well, here we go again.

I really look forward to every series against the Phillies and Brewers because until we figure out how to get over the mental hump of winning series against these two teams in the regular season, we're never going to win a playoff series. Both the Phillies and the Brewers have a confidence that we simply do not posess and won't posess it until we can start beating them.

Hunter Greene has a career ERA of a run per inning, absolutely atrocious, but it's really no worse than anyone else on the team.

We can be playing great and then we face the Brewers or the Phillies and we stink. They both have had a huge mental edge against us for many years now.

It's a matter of when, not if, we start beating the Phillies and the Brewers in series, at least at a .500 clip. Can't get better mentally as a team until we can get over this hump. I hope it's this weekend.

You are an ACE now, Hunter. Great opportunity for you here tonight to take it to another level.

    Let's go, REDS.

We've been pretty good at Opening Games of Series this season. I'm predicting a 6-3 win tonight.

Elly has been streaky, both ways, this year, as expected. I'm predicting tonight he gets on fire and goes on a mini-tear for 5-7 games.

Odds are probably 1 in 100 of that happening. That's not pessimistic, just realistic.

I do think this is a must-win series against them. We're half-a-dozen games behind them and it's mid-June. Our best path for the playoffs is to win the Division. MIL has owned the REDS mentally for many years now. A series win will feel like a sweep mentally to both clubs. The Brewers totally expect to win this series. The REDS don't. That's got to change which is why this is a must-win series.

But, his Defense (at the most important position in baseball) has improved dramatically. It's really hard to work on both at the same time. I agree with you. It's going to happen, but I don't think for 5-7 games. When his next adjustment gets made, it should last for 4-5 weeks, or about 25-30 games (of which we will, not coincidentally, win them at a 67% clip).

Don't expect any homeruns from Candelario in this series. I hope Candelario doesn't fall in love with those warning-track HR's he's been hitting at the GAB, as they are just going to be flyouts in MIL (and most other ballparks). His best bet when on the road, and he's done it, like in Los Angeles, is to go the opposite way when batting LH, and continue to do what he does (walk a lot) when he bats RH Wish he wasn't batting 3rd in the lineup on the road. I'd flipflop him and Fraley.

Oh I’d say 1 in 15 at worst.

You do know the Reds have already won the season series from the Phillies right?
