As a devout masochist, I'm looking forward to the first of many battles against Skenes.

So we have the surprise, under-the-radar prospect v the annointed new king of pitching.

    Should be interesting, I guess.

Came here to say this. It’s a couple of dudes who took very different paths to get to tonight’s game.

As a Reds fan, I’m pre-disposed to rooting for the underdog, since they’ve been the underdog in about 75% of the games I’ve seen during my lifetime.

Hoping Steer gets off the schneid. A 550 OPS in the last seven days and a 668 OPS in the last two weeks isn't helping the offense much.

Skeens is the real deal, our guys like the fastball and he's got it. We miss McClain and stellar defense up the middle.

Chris Spiers is the new king of pitching. That's not a question, that's just a statement of fact.

Yeah, maybe...but I'm more concerned with Carson Spiers.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

So the Reds have yet another pitching maestro to face in young Paul Skenes...let's rough him up...I want to see him sitting alone in the dugout with a towel over his head.

I rushed over to savant to see if he was leading the league in popups. Only 18? Top 50 only? Weird. Seems like 1-2 a game

Still trying to absorb the thought process from yesterday of removing the hottest hitter in the game for a pinch runner. Yes, Espinal got a hit in that spot in the ninth but that was a mind numbing decision. Maybe someone other than the Reds manager is responsible for that dilly. I'm also with Cloninger- send Sims packing and move Diaz out of the closer role. I doubt either of those will happen, however. It's too obviously smart.

Its the mathematical potential for a single game to last forever, in a suspended world where no clock rules the day, that aligns baseball as much with the dead as the living.

I would like for this to be the first of many games that cause Pirates fans in the future to say "Skenes has trouble with the Reds for some reason".
