Sorta get the feeling it's mandatory that we put together a pretty lengthy stretch of winning baseball. About three and one half weeks before the All-Star break. The season is about 46% done. Time to get hot for a month or two. GO REDLEGS!!!
ďItís the mathematical potential for a single game to last forever, in a suspended world where no clock rules the day, that aligns baseball as much with the dead as the living.Ē

It’s unclear why the Reds have added a third catcher to their roster, as they already have Tyler Stephenson and Luke Maile on the team.

It’s possible that something is up with Stephenson, as he has only been in the starting lineup twice since Saturday, serving as the designated hitter in one of those two.

This is pure speculation but he has been hit on the hand by a pitch a few times this year, which could be part of the problem. Back on June 6, x-rays on his hand came back negative, per C. Trent Rosecrans on X.

But he has hit .111/.250/.185 since that date, perhaps suggesting something is amiss.

Wynns has received solid grades for his defense in recent years, with Statcast being particularly fond of his work controlling the running game, as he comes in the top ten on their catcher throwing leaderboard since the start of 2021.

    Undoubtedly you’re correct.

But I’ve thought some times this year three catchers would make sense - to allow Stephenson to DH when he’s not catching. Especially against lefties.

In this case, I’m sure Ron’s speculation is on point, Stephenson not at full strength.

Reds facing yet another possible 2024 All-Star SP.

The good news is that Crawford has a 6+ ERA over his last 5 starts and has allowed 7 homers.

    Letís get some runs.

I didn’t see that it was a quote.

On the game telecast, they said Stephenson is day to day.

Crawford has a weird delivery, that looks like could lead to arm trouble.
