I didn't catch that until I saw it the 2nd time.

Hilarious, though the pole didn't miss.

Very short shot clock also I think hurts, I don't know why they felt the need to make it so different from 5x5.
They may as well as tiddly winks, marbles, jacks, monopoly and stratego.

The men’s 1500m track final is one of the best things I’ve seen in sport.

That was pretty great, also for comic book villain Jakob Ingebrigtsen eating it down the stretch and finishing out of the medals.

I believe that makes the US 3-for-3 at 1500 meters. 3 races, 3 golds. 1 world record and 2 olympic records.

    Go Cole Hocker.

    Go Ducks.

Always been very fortunate to have so many Olympic Trials held in Eugene.

A thing I've noticed in the distance races is the Ethiopian runners are kind of dirty.

USA down double digits narrowly beat the Serbs 95-91 to advance to the Gold Medal game.

What a basketball game. Lebron, Curry, and Embiid played amazingly. Lebron was doing whatever it took.

One of my favorite Olympic memories from childhood was Canton's own, Dave Wottle in the '72 Munich games, 800 m final. If you like fantastic finishes, check this one out. Dave went from way back in last place to nipping the second place finisher at the tape. No one had a kick like Bowling Green State University's, Dave Wottle. Well, Secretariat might have been close.

I still root for Mike Boit in that race. I was a wee sprout of a child at that time and we were watching the Olympics that night, and my dad decided to play a dirty trick on me. He asked who I was rooting for. I picked Boit, because his name sounded cool. Like I knew about nationalism. I was pre-k. Anyway, my dad knew Wottle was going to win, because it had happened hours earlier, so he picked Wottle. And he spent the whole race taunting me that Wottle was going to come back and win. I was like "no way." Well, way, obviously. I was crushed.

Anyway, after I learned years later how time zones work, the level of my father's deceit became clear. So my dad and Dave Wottle can both go get bent.

OMG. Sounds like something my dad would have done when I was a kid. That's funny.
