    Welcome Ty France to Cincinnati

It could be that Krall was looking at the HR ballpark effect with France like he clearly must have done with Candelario.

While there wasn't a noticeable effect before 2023, there is a very noticeable effect covering the last two seasons, 2023-2024. The same hitting would have produced 31 HR's in Cincinnati's GAB vs the 20 HR's he's actually hit in 2023-24.

France has changed so much of his swing and plate approach the last two seasons that he's now become an extremely passive hitter who routinely strikes out or weakly grounds out, but when he does get the ball in the air, he's produced a lot of warning-track power, something that he could take advantage of when he's playing in Cincinnati. The excitement of that possibility should lead Ty to getting more balls in the air and being more aggressive at the plate (fewer stikeouts looking, fewer takes on good pitches).

The stark difference the last two seasons with the effect of playing in the GAB is what I'd concentrate on here. There's not a lot of positive things one can concentrate on with Ty France (besides his good personality), but this is definitely one of them. For someone who has produced about 1 HR every 3 weeks the last two seasons of his career and 1000 Plate Appearances of his career, there should be an immediate spike in the HR production rate at the GAB.

So, the outfield when France Starts is Steer/Friedl/Fairchild. When he doesn't, it's Benson/Friedl/Fraley.

Where does this leave Slater and any AAA prospect that gets it going, and Martini?

    What a mess?!

Seems like a low risk high reward type of move.... Odds of him making a difference are low but the price was very low. Funnier things have happened.

Maybe Steer or Candy is in play in another possible trade.

We just added a RH OF bat with more potential for 2025 than anyone other than Rece Hinds, and probably more potential than Rece Hinds. France will have two months to make a case for himself with us plus the off-season.

Strong pair in France and India. Call up Levi Jordan and you're a third of the way to an all-world team.

Think Mark Portugal could knock the dust off and get back out there every 5 days?

1B Ty France has arrived has been added to the 26-man roster for the Reds tonight. He replaced Slater's spot.

France will wear No. 2 for the Reds.

Theres no way France is on next year's roster. Best case we get a hot month or two from him as he rebuilds his value.

I saw on TV Ty going out of his way after the game ended to get an autograph to a kid who had his baseball card.
