From waiver claim to clean-up hitter. But hey, the Reds didn't need to add any offense.

Now watch France go full on Derek Deitrick and go 4-4, with 4 HRs.

lol. It’s his lofty .660 OPS that earned him an immediate insertion, in the cleanup spot or those monstrous 8 home runs in 301 at bats. Sorry Ty, we love your dedication to this organization, but it’s time you take a back seat, to this new phenomenal player we pulled out of the great Seattles trash can.

I forgot, sorry Stu, we know how you’re hitting against lefties, but we got this new stud and we are paying Candy 15 million a year. Thank you for your service though.

    Go Reds!

Is it sad that I'm comforted by Espinal at 3B over Marte?

Since Luis Castillo was one of my favorite recent Reds it is very, very sad.

I think it's wonderful. Guys who suck should lose their jobs. He can earn his way back by not sucking.

Same theory should apply to Nick Krall.

You mean we can't use the "Marte is still in his spring training" excuse anymore? Shucks.

27 games in, so that’s close to spring training. Regardless, we should be still understanding that’s he’s only 22 and only has 227 MLB PA’s under his belt.

Young enough to go back to AAA, rediscover his stroke, and earn his way back, without hurting his development...sounds like a win-win to me.

Well, I think it possible that it's a lost year and he'll be better next year. He should still lose his job if he doesn't get better. If he's better next year, he can win it back.

    It’s certainly a lost year.

I just wonder if he might be more useful to the Reds as a trade piece for an OF at this point.

This is a David Bell regular thing. Guy like Marte sits against an accomplished pitcher. Don’t send the kid up against the Cy Young veteran.

    Not surprised at all.
