Do you go to State and/or County Fair's, Rodeo's?

Personally, I love the Arts & Crafts displays that are in the Exhibit Halls.

A ride or two is always fun.

Got to eat something bad for me.

Used to like watching a horse-race or two when they used to have them.

Best of all is watching other family members enjoy themselves.

Really love to get around to different Counties in the State and experience their County Fairs.

One great thing about the County Fairs is the small communites and landscapes to visit and see.

There's always bands on the downsides of their careers you can see at these Events if you pick the right night to go.

They used to be closer to the end of Harvest, but we're talking a very long time ago. They have long since moved to the Summertime, mid-Summer or late Summer before school begins.

I go most years to at least one. COVID made everyone home-bodies, so a lot of traditions were interrupted, and economically, made it difficult for them to survive, such as Octoberfests and Art Fairs and things of that nature. They're coming back.

We haven't gone to any for a 5 or 6 years but used to hit a few up here. Our favorite is the local fair- the Tunbridge World's Fair. It is a great size, beautiful view from the top of the ferris wheel, well run, lots of animals, and even pig races.

I’ve been to VA and NC state fairs, though not for several years, and pig races were always one of my favorite things to see.

Sort of related, I went to the Smithfield (VA) Ham & Gourmet Food Festival in 1992, where I saw Marie Osmond perform. It’s my favorite random live music experience that I’ve had in my life.

Haven’t been in a couple of years but I do go to the Butler county fair occasionally. Darke county has a really big fair that I once attended.

As far as rodeos, Springboro has one on 73, going towards Waynesville that I go to about once every two years.

I bought my cowboy boots in a place right close to that for years. Never been to the rodeo though.

That’s cool, so did I. Silver spur? The Rodeo isn’t huge but it’s still very good and you get to sit very close to the action.

Love county fairs. The price to get in them has gotten a little higher the last 3 to 4 years. $8 to $10 ($5 to $7 previously) in the Columbus, Ohio area. For me, the best price for food is at the very end of the walk through. The mid way seems to be more expensive. Guessing they pay higher rent being in the middle.

Example: Gyro at mid way is $10. Gyro at end point $7. Just my experience. Your results may vary.

Editing to add the the food stands seem to be charging a 4 1/2 % fee if using credit card. I pay cash so no worries on my end. Big suggestion is to bring cash.

Fun seeing the animals of course. Also fun to meet radio personalities promoting their station.

Best rodeo around here is the St. Paul Rodeo. Last year the event was inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame.

Went to the Ohio state fair for about 20 years straight when we had our kids around. My wife and I went a couple years ago for old times sake. Still fun.

Saw Waylon Jennings, Ohio Players, James Gang, Johnny Cash, and several other bands there in the 70’s.

Not much in the way of rodeo action at my county fair, but the demolition derby is hella fun.
