That's why I'm holding out hope, in what I feel is the Reds' last chance this season. It's now or never. I know it's the Marlins, but Elly's been hot for awhile, so has India. The starting pitching is not bad.

    Chris Welsh appreciation post:

That last half inning he put on a masterclass in broadcast banter. I doubt he really cares about a lot of Sadak’s pop culture stuff, but he finds common ground and, in the process, encourages Sadak to get a little more personal with some interesting observations about AI and Welsh’s (very good) website.

    He’s just a pro.

Do we push for Nick to go another inning to save the bullpen?

Nice to see six strong innings from Lodolo today.

The bullpen is the Reds Achilles heel. They won’t make the playoffs and not in 2025 either, if they don’t vastly improve the bullpen.

He’s at 94-95 pitches, so I doubt they will. They’ll bring in Cruz so it’ll be 8-7 after seven.

I don't know jack squat about baseball contracts and how much money players are making or should make but would it be insane to just go ahead and pay Elly 50 million a year for the next 10 years to try and lock him up through all of his prime years? Not that an offer would ever come from these cheap ass owners but is that something Elly and his agent would consider? I'm thinking he's gonna be making that much or more in five or six years for the Dodgers. Why not go ahead and be proactive and pay the kid to keep him here if you want to make him a Red for life. Is that crazy?

Who’s this Cruz and where’d he come from? Bell feels vindicated now I bet.

If he got injured, would insurance pick that up or would the Reds be on the hook for it?

Telling you - I’m bullish on this De La Cruz guy. And Marte? Don’t tell me you can’t see it.

Work has been busy this week, of course it's the week Elly goes nuclear. Glad he's been doing well, what a player

If you were the Reds owner and you wanted to try to keep Elly a Red for the majority of his playing life, what kind of offer would you make to him here and now to try and make him a Red for the next decade plus?
