There's a (very unlikely) scenario where Northern Illinois, Memphis and UNLV all go undefeated and the ACC and Big XII champs don't make the playoffs.

Also, I'm tired of these TV officials getting on there and blindly defending their friends and profession. Either be objective with your analysis or get them off the air.

Yeah I’d say Wisconsin is on level of Vandy now. They stink and their recruiting is quite bad. Don’t think they have any NIL money. Fickell may have made a mistake leaving UC.

Wisconsin is the type of program you almost have to jump at if you are Fickell. He had taken UC as far as he possibly could, I just don't know what else he could have done there.

Wisconsin for some reason wanted to get away from the Wisconsin style of offense. They brought Fickell in and wanted to install an air raid type of offense. I don't know if that works in Madison, nor do I know if that works with the Wisconsin recruiting foothold. Its year two of the change over and they aren't good enough to run the air raid and too many guys have left from the old Paul Chryst offense. So they are basically in no mans land. I don't know if Fickell ultimately survives, but I think year 3 and 4 will be more telling.

The thing about the big non conference match ups is its all about timing. You sign a deal 10 years prior and hope both teams are playing well when they meet. Sometimes that doesn't happen, sometimes that does. FWIW I think Wisconsin's peak is a fringe playoff contender on years when things break for them. Playing in the old B1G West really helped that out, but now things may have gotten a little more difficult.
