NONE of them think a G5 team will end up ranked higher than one of the P4 conference champs? I think there's a better than average chance of that happening, actually.

What if Clemson loses to Georgia (done), South Carolina and Louisville but wins the ACC championship game? And the Big XII could easily have someone lose 2 or 3 regular season games but win the conference title game. OK State and K-State both basically needed miracles to escape Arkansas and Tulane, respectively. That could have been a problem for the Big XII.
Or in the ACC, Louisville could lose to Notre Dame, Kentucky and either Miami or Clemson but then turn around and beat the other in the championship game. They would not be ranked particularly high at that point.
Or in the Big XII, what if preseason darling Kansas turns it around and wins the Big XII title (after sneaking into the title game with two conference losses, for example)? Those Illinois and UNLV losses have them a long way from being ranked right now.

Also, Memphis doesn't play a soul the rest of the way (other than a pretty decent Tulane team). If Memphis is actually any good (who knows?), they could pretty easily end up 13-0 and ranked in the top 10.
If FSU was even decent I could see Memphis being top 10 but they are awful, so idk
What would you say.....ya do here?

Wouldn't it be ironic that after FSU missed the playoffs at 13-0 last year, Memphis beat them, went 13-0 and made the playoffs this year? (I know the expanded version takes some of that away, but it would at least mildly amuse me, and probably irritate Seminole fans even more.)
The fact that Norvell left Memphis for FSU would make that more amusing.

I see Wisconsin's starting QB is out for the year.
ND was -3/3.5 depending on where you looked. No way was OSU a 14 pt favorite against PSU (though I didn't google to confirm).
With a 12 team playoff, strong out of conference games are not necessary - teams will get in with bad schedules. I'd prefer to see those game and gladly pay to see them. I'd argue teams *should* want to schedule these kinds of games, but I can't argue they *need* to do so in the current climate.

Looking at covers.com, which has historical closing odds, Ohio State was favored by 3.5 over ND, by 4 over Penn State, and was a 3 point dog at Michigan. The 14.5 point line at Wisonsin was the shortest in all other games.
And so it begins ....

Tennessee will be adding a 10 percent surcharge to all season and single-game tickets in an effort to generate more revenue for players starting in 2025, athletic director Danny White told On3 Sports.
