Isn't that what the cooperatives like OSU's 1870 are for? The NCAA established a "system" involving cooperatives, from which universities pay players. Where did the 25M OSU spent this year come from? Again, the whole premise was that these uber-rich universities could easily afford to pay them. Guess not.

And that's fine. I'm sure the gullible fans will pay it without a second thought. But once they start putting a surcharge on OSU tickets I'll stop going.

Those cooperatives are funded by the fans/businesses and not the universities. Opt-in, of course, but it wasn't the universities paying the bill.

Buying tickets is obviously opt-in as well, and I don't have any problem with anyone who doesn't want to pony up for the extra money that goes to players. Frankly, you'll never convince me that players had a bad deal in the first place, so if there's less money for them the number of tears I cry would be zero.

As far as "funded by the fans", and concerning 1870, one contributes by becoming a monthly member. Different membership packages cost more/month. From $1.99/month up to $5,000/month.

and that's fine. No issues with that at all. Because it's voluntary. For those that want to contribute. Putting a surcharge on tickets not only makes tickets even more expensive, but it's cumpulsory. The only choice one has, to avoid it, is not go to games. lol

Kyle McCord looking like he did at OSU in the Stanford-Syracuse game. Makes some nice throws but makes critical errors too.

It does appear that way. How did that happen? Is there a story behind this?

The idea was that they (the schools) were already making millions and it was going to come out of that. Instead it appears that schools will get to keep those millions and it'll instead come from the poor schleps buying tickets

My Vols are the ESPN game of the week. I'm sure it won't be the last time this year. They may very well be the GameDay game when they play Alabama and Georgia too. Great exposure and exciting football for fans like me

Definitely seems like money well spent for Nico. Tennessee is going to be a problem this year and next, at minimum. They haven’t played anyone yet (I don’t buy NCSU should have been ranked), will be interesting to see how they play Oklahoma today. If Tennessee blows them out they are legit.

Yeah , that's just not how the world works. If costs increase, you can be sure prices are going up. Don't like it? Don't buy tickets.

Gus Johnson with the call on the OSU-Marshall game. Always fun to listen to him.

Does Stone Earle have any eligibility left? Looks like he's auditioning to be Ohio State's QB next year.
