JMU leads UNC 25-14 after the first quarter in a No Lead Feels Safe type of game. We’re on pace for a 4 1/2 hour game if this keeps up.

Right on cue, it’s 25-21. Defense optional.

JMU leads 53-21 at the half. This after only beating Gardner-Webb (!) 13-6 last game. College football is nuts.

JMU might find a way to blow this.

That's fair and I agree on all points. I'll add that Tennessee is prepared for life without Nico. They are in line to sign the #2 recruit in the 2025 class, David Sanders and the #1 recruit in the 2026 class, Brandon Faizon, both 5* QBs. Huepel is adept at recruiting stud QBs

NC State had to start a true freshman at QB 'cause their 5 yr senior starting QB is hurt. That doesn't explain why they gave up 42 pts in the first half but for a school like NC State, it's a big hit going from #1 to #2 QB

They've never been a 1Q team, regardless who they play.

A lot of horrible (blowouts) games in the early schedule today. Sept college football is rough

Looked that way for a while. UNC scores in garbage time to make the final score 70-50, JMU. What a bonkers game.

Exactly. That's just UNC "winning" the 4th qtr. It's still a blowout. Mack's gotta be feelin' some heat there in Chapel Hill. My guess is he "retires" after this year

David Sanders isn’t a QB. He’s an OT. Number 1 QB in country is Bryce Underwood and he’s going to LSU. #2 QB in country is Tavion St Clair. He’s going to the Buckeyes.

Mack Brown rumored to have offered his resignation

He certainly was ticked off, took all the blame

“Embarrassing day, shocking day,” North Carolina coach Mack Brown said. “You shouldn’t be at North Carolina and lose to a Group of Five team, period. There are no excuses. Our defense looked awful. We had communication problems, we had missed tackles. We had guys wide open for a touchdown.

“It can only come back to one person and that’s me. I’ve hired everybody on this staff and signed every player on this team. I am at fault 100%. I got big shoulders, and I’m embarrassed for our whole program that we would put a product like that on the field.”

If I had an AP vote, I'd rank Tennessee #1 (depending on how this second half turns out, of course).

Until Coach Prime learns to develop an offensive line he’s never going to have a good season. Watching this Swiss cheese line try and block is painful.

Fortunately Qb Sanders hasn’t taken many hard hits yet.
