It’s funny, Iowa was unranked, however if you put an SEC next to their name with the same schedule they probably would have been ranked going into the game yesterday. Doesn’t matter at the end of the day, just shows the SEC bias.
Anyways, Texas will be ranked 1, OSU 2, Oregon 3
What would you say.....ya do here?

I hope Sea Ray keeps us updated on the polls as they come out.

He is a redshirt freshman. That's a fact. He wasn't "on campus" two years ago. He was making college visits two years ago. He made a visit to UT on Sept 24, 2022 and again on Oct 29, 2022. He officially enrolled on Dec 16, 2022. He's played very little college football. Was his play unacceptable? Maybe but I keep in mind that he hasn't faced many top notch college football teams. His offensive line didn't do him any favors on Saturday. He'd better play better this weekend. I think the home crowd will help

SEC has earned that bias

Tennessee fans think they're over ranked at #8 but that's where they are. Looks like the Big Ten finally has a really good game to watch this weekend. I was beginning to feel sorry for Fox and Joel Klatt for the games they've been forced to cover this point
Even if he'd have turned it upfield he still wasn't going to make it to the end zone. The problem was his sorry O-line. The pass rush was on him before his receivers could even get to the end zone. He had no chance on that play. It's a team sport. If you're going to throw a desperation pass to the end zone, you gotta at least have a player standing there. He didn't
I didn't realize Nico was the #3 overall recruit in that class. Sure he is a redshirt freshman, but the guy has already gone through 3 spring camps and two fall camps at this point. When you enroll early, you get that extra experience. When I watched it live I was thinking, what in the world is he doing? Its best to say, it was a mistake, and then move on.
There was all this talk about how Bama was the #1 ranked team and won't miss a beat. Well that shine is now off, Saben doesn't lose that game. DeBoer now has his work cut out for him with a potential knock out game against Tennessee in two weeks.
The vaunted SEC took it on the chin this week. Its still early and there is a lot of football to play, and the good teams will get better as the season goes along.
I did think it was funny a headline on ESPN said the OSU win over Iowa had to feel like a loss because they gave up a TD to Iowa. That is some grade A trolling job by ESPN.
College sports has really turned upside down when Vanderbilt beats Alabama in football. Had Vandy ever beaten Bama?

3 Spring camps? He enrolled in Dec 22, so he had Spring camp 23 and Spring camp 24. Where did you picture him in a 3rd Spring camp?
Nico has a lot of potential to improve. As an OSU fan, you know how much Ewers and Burrow improved after their freshman year. If Nico improves, Tennessee is in the thick of it. If not then they'll be relegated to another New Years Day Bowl where they kick the snot out of another slow plodding Big Ten team. We've seen that play out year after year. BTW it's not all on Nico. If the O line doesn't play better there's not much more Nico can do
I can tell many of you didn't watch the game 'cause you're not even criticizing Nico for the right things. He was bad because he missed open receivers in several instances in the game. That last play was on the O line, not him
40 yrs ago. I remember it. Alabama was coached by Ray Perkins. Alabama lost to Boston College and Georgia Tech that year, finishing with a sub .500 record. They did beat Auburn, Penn State and UC. Of course Sea Ray was at the game on Oct 20 when he was a student there. We beat Alabama all four of my years

I missed that one. He enrolled early, got the extra spring camp under his belt.
Yea I am an OSU fan, and CJ Stroud in his first season of starting followed the same path as Nico. He had his ups and downs, caught some early criticism and has a Heisman caliber season. FWIW Connor Stallions may have cost CJ a Heisman that season.
I was flipping back and forth between the Michigan Washington game and the UT Arkansas game. The UT Arkansas game was almost unwatchable at times, boy was there some poor football being played. As for the last play, sure there are things that go into that play being a bust. With 6 seconds on the clock, Nico has to know this is the last play of the game. Regardless if the line held or not, that ball has to be in the endzone.
He probably will get better as he gets older. But at the same time when you are the #3 overall recruit in the class, expectations come pretty quick. I did hear that Tennessee's downfield passing attack has been pretty suspect, don't know if that is true or not. But that could be an issue going forward.
