Indiana clearly about 4 or 5 rankings better than the Irish.

If they played on a neutral field, I suspect ND would be favored.

I DO hope one of the service academies can finish off the Irish's playoff hopes for us. Or why not both?

Sagarin is usually pretty close on lines and would favor ND by 5 on a neutral field.

NCAA Championship game is still 3 months away so a lot can, and probably will, happen but right now to my eye test I'd say the top 4 teams are Georgia, Texas, Ohio State and Oregon (in no particular order) and then there's a significant gap after that. How do you see it?

As for my SEC stuff, I post significant stuff and it's unheard of that a conference would have 9 teams in the top 25

I cannot put Texas over Penn State right now. Even by the eye test. What is Texas's best win? Michigan? They are awful. Oklahoma? They are awful.

Vanderbilt is ranked 25 this week for one reason and one reason only - so Texas can have another "ranked" win on their schedule.

Penn State is in the same boat Texas is in. Texas just played their first real game. Penn States best win so far was against Illinois which is better than what Texas has played but Penn State will probably get waxed by Ohio State in a couple of weeks.

11-0 Army vs. 11-0 Navy would be amazing

Our eye tests view things differently. I think Texas would crush Penn State

As for Vanderbilt, they may or may not be worthy of being ranked #25 but your opinion is a tin foil hat conspiracy that I'm not buying. I think we agree that Vanderbilt will not be ranked again this season because after Texas they still have LSU and Tennessee left on their schedule. South Carolina may beat them as well. That's a far tougher remaining schedule than Penn State's or any other Big Ten team for that matter. It's rough playing in the SEC

I have not seen much the last few games to lead me to believe that Bama has a good defense.

I have not seen a lick of Illinois this year. How good do you think they are? IU is the most impressive looking Big Ten team. Granted they haven't played a ranked team but they've absolutely waxed everyone. Nobody has gotten w/i 2 TDs of them. Of course playing in the Big Ten, it's possible to have a 12 team schedule and only play one ranked team. If they whoop up on everyone except Ohio State, I won't know what to think of them
