Yeah, the Braves certainly have built up a ton of goodwill with their performance over the last decade(s).
Of course injuries happen (Atlanta has lost arguably the best pitcher and best position player in the game so I don’t know that it’s even fair to compare that to Cincy) and can tank a season.
The Braves won the WS a few years ago. The Braves added Chris Sale last year. The Braves locked up their youngsters. Hell, the Braves have a WC spot right now by a few games.
Those 2 organizations do not belong in the same sentence.

You’re right and the Cincinnati Reds are very lucky their fan base is so loyal, because after so many years of ineptness, it would be very easy for fans to have jumped ship. Oh wait, it’s not so easy, because we are loyal, almost to a fault.
As aggravated as I get with this organization, I will probably never give up hope. Hope springs eternal, even in this situation!

Hell, go on a run here Redlegs. I’m here for it if you want to do it.
I wonder if any teams are going to start dumping contracts like last year

That's the same way I am. After almost 50 years as a Reds fan, they are like a bad drug that I keep abusing myself with over and over. I can't help myself. When I went to watch the Reds in Atlanta this year the Reds fans about outnumbered the Braves fans. One young Braves fan who looked to be around 8-9 asked his mother ,"why are there so many Reds fans here?". I started to tell him I guess we like pain inflicted upon ourselves.

Very true.
And sometimes the excuses are legitimate, year, after year, after year, after year...
No team makes the post season every single year. (Although the Dodgers might like a word about that)
But most team ownership at least tries.
I was thinking about this the other day, and there's really only one realistic way to stop ownership groups like the Reds from grifting fan sentiment:
If taxpayer money is used at all in the equation... for the stadium, repairs, anything...
Then they need to make their accounting public. Full stop. Otherwise, they can always cry poor all they want, but they can do so on their own dime.
Because as it stands now, this whole taxpayer-funded-but-pockets-turned-out annual turdfest seems to have no end in sight. And why should it? As of now, there's zero incentive for Reds ownership to prioritize winning, at all. Essentially, they own a magic cash machine that prints more money they less they pay attention to it.

A's lead the Mets, 7-6 in the top of the 8th.
Giants lead the Braves 2-0 in the bottom of the second.
Of less importance, Dodgers lead the Brewers 4-3 in the bottom of the 7th.
That's everybody the Reds are chasing.

Mason Miller with the old-fashioned 39 pitch, 6 out save for the As.

Luckily we’ve been around long enough to witness some really great teams, that won championships. I did get to see the Reds beat the Dodgers, in the game clinching playoff series victory in 1995. We had tickets for all three home games, but only needed one, as we swept them and only got to play the one game at home against them. 29 years and counting since that last playoff series victory. Jeesh, apparently we do like the infliction of pain. lol
Go Reds!

Brewers come back to win. They sure do miss highly regarded Manager Craig Counsell.
The Mets lost.
Giants now up 5-0 on Atlanta in the 7th.
