And the ChiSox are about to put the Lovable Loser Mets in the rearview. I hope Chicago scribes and bloggers have been lionizing Leyn Sosa and Chris Flexen this season. These heroes deserve to be remembered.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I even hopped on youtube and watched his old miller light commercial. While I was at it, I looked at Marv's BB Ref page. Career OPS+ right around league average at 96. That's the kind of guy people here want to acquire (or keep) and give near $10 Million to.

I made my fantasy baseball championship. Winner takes home $700, loser $300. So, that is fun.

I had the last pick in first round and somehow got Ohtani with the 1st pick of the 2nd round. I drafted Castillo with the 12th pick in the first to troll people into thinking I wasn't going to take Ohtani. I was looking at the draft results and some of the picks people had in the first round instead of taking Ohtani are crazy to me. Kyle Tucker, Matt Olson. Wtf.
What would you say.....ya do here?

Re: 2024 MLB News and Notes #2

The Pirates announced that they have designated first baseman Rowdy Tellez and outfielder Michael A. Taylor for assignment.

Both Tellez and Taylor were signed to modest one-year deals in the winter as the Bucs tried to supplement their roster. Tellez got a $3.2MM guarantee while Taylor got $4MM. Unfortunately, neither signing worked out well for the Bucs, as both players have struggled this year.

The White Sox rallied for 3 in the 8th tonight for a 3-2 win over the Angels. So ignominy will have to wait until tomorrow.

Read that Tellez was 4 plate appearances shy of a $200k bonus kicking in. Which, if so, is unimaginably cheap behavior from the Pirates.

Bob and Phil will be looking to snipe some front office guys from the Pirates. That’s the type of winning baseball move we need here in Cincy,

Feel bad for the guy but he did agree to that deal so he had to figure it was a possibility. Certainly doesn't make PIT an attractive place for guys to play. They will get the ham-n-eggers where the choice is PIT of AAA but good luck holding on to Skenes. Some of the other guys like Keller and Reynolds who were signed to long term deals may be having second thoughts.

This season has exhausted me so much, that I don't care one bit about any sport my grandkids are not playing. I've got pee wee football, volleyball, 2 soccer teams and likely a dance class to attend.

Call me in February, but I need a friggin break.
