    Yep that is Stu, also of note.... catching is Bob Schmidt who played with the 61 Reds until late June when he was sent down and Johnny Edwards was first called up

    I vaguely remember Schmidt. He must have come over in the Bailey for Blasingame trade.

    The #STLCards have called up Riley O’Brien, designated Shawn Armstrong for assignment.

    St. Louis traded three remaining years of Dylan Carlson for roughly 3 1/2 weeks of Shawn Armstrong.

    Trading Carlson was necessary (for both parties!) but this is not a great look.

    By DFA’ing Shawn Armstrong just a week after demoting Jordan Walker and Nolan Gorman the Cardinals have a reality that should alarm them.

    There isn’t a 1st-round pick and only one player* acquired in exchange for a 1st-round pick on 26–player roster.

    * Goldschmidt; Lynn on IL.

    The Reds should take a shot at claiming Armstrong. He's better than Junis.
    All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

    Strange move by the Cardinals. Armstrong pitched well for the Cardinals, 2.84 ERA, 2.77 FIP. He’s not making much this season either.

    The Reds should put a claim in on him. He’s better than Kelly or Legumina.

    Tonight Thrall said that Espinal has never hit a grand slam with the bases loaded,

    I would be highly impressed if he could hit one without the bases loaded.

    We’re all struggling to get through the end of the season. Fans, players, broadcasters, etc.

    The Royals chased down the Guardians in the AL Central. One more game in Cleveland this afternoon to decide who will take the division lead into the final 28 games.

    Hopefully we're mirroring the Royals story next year (including a massive extension with our star shortstop!).

    And don't sleep on the Twins, who are only 2.5 games back. The AL Central is shaping up to be a 3-horse race. Mind you, it's looking like all three will be playoff bound. The major difference will be one of them probably will be getting a first round bye.

    Earlier in the contest Brantley used the term "Albatross" to convey the feeling of "rarity" however the term "albatross" actually is used to convey the sense of a "burden," as "He's a real albatross around my neck."

    2s on par 5s are awfully rare. 1s on par 4s, too. 0s on par 3s are about as rare as the old grand slam without the bases being loaded.
