Judge Or Ohtani: Who Would You Rather Have?

Judge Or Ohtani: Who Would You Rather Have As A Cincinnati Red?

I read this article and thought it would make an interesting RedZone thread.

Former MLB GM: Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani is More Exciting Than Yankees' Aaron Judge

At the moment I'd pick Aaron Judge but it wouldn't be real hard to persuade me to change my mind.

Judge would look awful good in the Reds outfield and hitting in the middle of the lineup right now.

Who would pick Judge? Even if he's a better hitter (debateable), Ohtani has the whole ace pitching thing going for him too.

Ohtani, especially when he's back pitching

It depends on what the prognosis for Ohtani pitching again is. If he could be my ace every 5th day and my clean-up hitter on the other days, I'd pick him. If he's a pure DH, I'd probably take Judge, but I'd be happy with whoever is left-over.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

That was my first thought as well

Of those two, I'll take Juan Soto. But yeah, I'd go Ohtani. Two years younger and will pitch again.

That said, Judge has been downright Bondsian at times this year.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Yes, but the article and my question was about Judge and Ohtani.

I just wanted to read who everyone would pick between those two and why

Yes, but whatever. I noticed someone else threw in Juan Soto and you didn't seem to have a problem with that.

I don't have a problem with your comment either I'd just like to know who you'd pick between those two and why

Ohtani but I'd love to see him pitching too. That is Bo Jackson-type stuff.

I agree with mth 123 on points. I hope he's able to stay healthy. Maybe we can let Elly try pitching.

Ohtani. But you can't go wrong with either.

Re: Judge Or Ohtani: Who Would You Rather Have?

To answer I’d take Ohtani with his pitching being the wildcard. He SEEMS more durable for longer but having the top slugger and a great guy is never going to be a wrong pick.

Next year I’d play Ohtani at DH for every 6-7 games then start him as the pitcher in the other

What they are doing is just insane.

Ohtani is going to push 50/50 and Judge is going to push 65 HR and a 1.200 OPS
