But I think we underestimate the acumen of the Cincinnati fans. They didn’t turn out in droves for this series, even though they could have if they bought all this nonsense about the deds still being in this race. I think the sensible fans knew the deds would reward all the renewed interest and hope by taking hot steamers on the field for 3 straight days, which is EXACTLY what happened.
But fans or no fans, the castellinis aren’t selling this team. It’s still profitable. No motivation to invest more or to rid themselves of it.

I'm not sure season ticket sales matter a lot to this ownership group. I don't know how much they get from profit sharing, but it has to be a very large take. Otherwise there would be no Pittsburgh's or Cincinnati's left. That's even after paying the players salaries.
I think the attendance this weekend was pretty good, but they also had a concert on Friday and fireworks last night (I think).
