Peculiar Things That You Find Enjoyable

Let's face it, we humans are pretty odd in many ways. I think we all have odd little pleasures that we find to our liking. Is there something odd , or peculiar, that you find enjoyable?

I thought of this the other day when one of my cats was licking me. I LOVE being licked by a cat. I find it incredibly relaxing and comforting. Always have. Don't tell anyone, please. Btw, I don't reciprocate the licking. No licking cat for me.

You're up .... Share one of your odd secret pleasures.

This might actually legit be the answer. Old school forums are a peculiar hobby at this point.

I like original source material (especially through books), so we are talking about diaries, first-hand accounts, etc. of 19th Century and prior resources.

It's about the closest thing I can get to time traveling (see "Detectorists", final episode). Along with that, I like to visit final burying places of the source material and if I can visit that person's final resting place, I find that I'm paying respect to that person and feel a closer connection to their thoughts they had put on paper more than a century, or two or three before.

I've uncovered (locating the spot through research) long covered up graves and brought the marker back to light. Sort of a maintenance of their marker so they are not forgotten. It's an esoteric experience, and thus to most people, peculiar.

May not be too too peculiar, but I’m a bird watcher. Got lots of feeders in the back yard, go on bird spotting trips, sit outside watching birds, can recognize birds by their calls, etc etc

Yes I’m a nerd but it keeps me out of bars.

My boy cat, Appa, loves to be held over the left side of my body and shoulder. Every once in awhile he'll french kiss my ear. I can't think of a better way to describe it, lol.

Sort of related, but I love reading obituaries.

My boy, Libra, and two of my girls, Mimi and Immi, all love to be held on the left side of my body and shoulder. They will literally sit there until I put them down. Mimi is my licker. She's a perpetual licking machine.

I am fascinated by serial killers. This guy could have been your kid's Cub Scout leader. That's pretty fascinating... AND scary.

I like cutting grass, which isn't exactly weird, but some people don't enjoy that. Of course with a riding mower and not while getting stung by bees or hornets.

This one might be a little more odd, but since I have lived in rural area's most of my life, I like the smell of a freshly planted crop field, that has manure in it. I know I know, peeeeeeeeeuh. lol

Ew, that smell. Can’t you smell that smell…

I haven't cut grass since moving out of my parents home over 35 years ago. Is that peculiar?
