Let me be the first of many to complain. Lifer Jim might have a stroke when he sees it.
Never put Espinal at DH. Why is India at 2B?
Not that I care as I think he is even a worse defender than India. But it looks likes Rosario is only going to play against LHP which is fine. I hope when he plays he is the DH he is worse than any Red on defense

It's crystal clear they have zero intention of bringing back Espinal for 2025. They are trying to get India as many reps at 2B as they can.

The Jays have disappointed the fans even more than the Reds this season and they’ve spent far more money doing so. The guy next to me at the game last night complained about the AAA players in their current line-up and how few of them will end up being good MLB players. Sound familiar. Still, going to the game wasn’t a complete waste of time as I got to see Maile’s mini perfect game and I also found out what happened to the Rogers Centre’s famous Home Plate Lady. I will do my best to get the Reds a W tonight.

A lot of Jays fans would welcome Espinal back. The affection for him in the stadium at every at-bat during this series has been immense. They’d probably cheer him if he homers tonight.

Why? So McLain can be a DH?
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

In other words, they are not doing everything they can to win THIS year. If you still want to win games in '24, why waste Espinal's golden glove?

I like Espinal but the Reds probably won't bring him back nor should they.
Career OPS below .700. He is on a month long good luck with BABIP. He isn't going to start in 2025. He is arrebitration eligible and will get a raise. He will end up being too expensive for a reserve. Great defender. But there will be dozens of backup middle infielders on the free agent market that can OPS in the .600s for a much cheaper contract.

Not going to complain today, because preaching the obvious to the choir, isn’t changing a thing. You’re right, they haven’t been doing everything they can, to win for quite some time, but it is what it is.

    Go Reds!

I picked up Nick Martinez in fantasy because Greene went on the IL so I apologize in advance for the 17-4 loss

I say hogwash to not bringing him back. Yes, they might not bring him back(probably won't) but I think they should. They gave Mike Minor 10 mil, gave this Pagan guy 16 mil over 2y. , gave $16 mil to some overpriced, stale Candy. They can afford 4 or 5 mil for a quality depth piece like Espinal. Crap happens to the Reds, a lot. There's no guarantee that we won't need a gold glove level defender/ respectable bat with some pop like Espinal in '25.

I don't think there are 25 better players than Espinal on this year's team and I doubt we will have 26 better than him next season. I don't trust our that inept FO will take the 4 or 5 mil that Espinal will cost and spend it on someone much better. I'd just as soon they'd give it to Espy. Hell, his career major league batting average is higher than any Reds player with 300 or more ABs is hitting this season, including Dela Cruz. There will be some point next season where we will wish we still had him, imo. If they don't pay him they will pay another Pagan or Mike Minor type. That's the way they roll.

Is Benson playing much these days? Haven’t checked but my impression is no.
