I could care less. It's not about winning. This season has been over for a very long time. It's about developing players who have a chance to contribute for the REDS in the future. Smith is not and should not be one of those players. Rece Hinds is and he should get to bat against Left-Handers AND Right-Handers. He was a 2nd Round pick who is only 24 years old. There's no such thing as "he can't hit Right-Handers" at the age of 24. Why even have the guy in your organization if you're only going to groom him to Start against Left-Handers?

Just stupid lineup construction and player development by the REDS.

India needs to sit a few games too or get out of lead off. Please advise the nerd behind the analytic curtain to make a better decision on this matter. Bell is playing India on his own at lead off. I was being sarcastic.

Reds have four players who have been above average in the month of August, Stepheson (wRC+ 178), Steer (128), Elly (116), and France (105). Hard to put a lineup together when the rest of the team sucks.

The reds don't really have any healthy position players who aren't playing who figure into the future. They have Elly, Steer, Stephenson, Friedl, India, and maybe Fraley, Marte and Espinal. I hope all the rest are cut loose the day after the season end. If they keep Espinal, he should start at 3B and they should trade Marte. If they keep Marte, they should probably non-tender or trade Espinal.
