    Bring Back Johnny Cueto

Reds need someone to stand on the mound and throw the ball, he can probably teach the youngsters something and it would be fitting to let him either finish his career as a Red or have one final trip to the GABP.

No, the Reds don't deserve for Cueto to bring them ticket sales. Hopefully hard reset coming.

I mentioned same thing in the game thread. He isn't good anymore but who cares? Neither will the 30 something career minor leaguer they call up to make those 4-5 starts in September.
Almost assuredly Cueto's last season. Let him finish it as a Red.

Cueto isn't good and hasn't been for a few years now. He wouldn't draw a single fan to GABP

I mean, I think (Bullpen Game) literally has a spot in the rotation right now...
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I have no clue what they are doing. I guess Martinez, Aguilar ,Lowder will start. Maybe Junis will be the 4th guy. Who knows though?
    Probably Suter as well.

I'm sure Phil could get the Cueto bobble heads fired up in time to move some tickets

Oh, trust me. There are Reds fans that will attend games to their fave's again. I mean, why else go to the games?

Yeah... Where else are you going to go? Right, Phil?

Count me as one! I have stopped paying much attention but I would find that satisfying.

I think bringing Cueto back to finish his career here is a good PR move. Won't help the team, but it's something to do, I guess.

He's not any worse than Leibrandt or Kelly or the other guys they have to use. The only issue is waiving him soon thereafter.

He'd have to be here for the rest of the season, or they'd risk bad PR.

Letting him play out the season is probably easier than recalling and DFA’ing guys every single day. If he’s healthy that at least gives one more known starter in the rotation and only 1 scheduled Uninown/bullpen day. Tge current merry-go-roundv(like last years) is a bit ridiculous IMO. Five starters (who should be capable of throwing more than 80 pitches) should not be this hard to find, but that’s another rant for another time

I agree that it's easier-- and, IMO, more fun.

It's what I'd like to see, fwiw.

When I say this, I don't mean you in particular, buuuuut, now all of a sudden we are cool with PR moves. Just a few short months ago we ran Joey Votto outa town because he was washed up. Isn't Cueto basically Joey Votto on the pitching rubber?

Buuuuut...I'd be cool with a Cueto return lol

Fair point, but during the talks about Votto, we thought this would be a competitive team and other players would outperform Joey. He wouldn’t not necessarily help the team.

Now, we know thst didn’t happen, and the desperation for any kind of arm that can make more than one start has set in.

Also, if Joey wanted to come back right now in the team as it is, a lot more people would be receptive to it than a year dho.
