I fear Fernando Cruz will be next year's Luis Cessa. We've seen this Reds pattern before.

Is it really so hard to find a SP off the scrap heap instead of having bullpen days every other game? This is embarrassing.

At least they will develop more multiple inning relievers?

2B Santiago Espinal day to day with leg injury
The Reds' starter at second base, Espinal was batting in the fifth inning of Friday’s 14-0 Game 2 loss vs. the Brewers when he fouled a ball off of his left shin below the knee. He finished the at-bat and hit a single to left field but was limping to first base. Although he remained in the game, he left before the top of the seventh inning.

“It’s not fractured but a very large hematoma. Day to day,” Reds manager David Bell said.

most interesting part of this is that the first initial of the 5-8 hitters for the Reds spell out Dawn
“The guys we've had for the most part have been serviceable at this level.”

And the first initial of the Brewers 1-2 hitters spells BJ.

Cueto is available. Saves the blowing up our bullpen.

I'm glad to see that management believes Spring Training started this week as demonstrated by this lineup. Lucky for them the White Sox exist.

They should have been doing this in July when it was clear they weren't going to add any playoff pieces. Humble the guys.

Oooff... 7, 8 and 9 hitters should be fun tonight. At least the 9 spot can pitch.

So... Montas will most likely pitch 6 shutout innings.

He's pitched well for Milwaukee. The farther he gets away from his long lay-off, the better he will be. I'd like to see the Reds get him back in 2025. It would go a long way towards fixing the staff.

Just missed it... these announcers are pretty apologetic about the Reds.

I hope the focus isn't on pitching. Sure, we need depth but that's not been the issue. We need a real MLB level outfield and a veteran bat. We've had a below .200 hitter or two in the lineup all season.
