I'm guessing that the median number of runs scored is 2 in an inning that started with the bases loaded and no out, as well as first inning that started with the bases loaded from 3 walks. It sure would be interesting to know, as well as knowing the average number of runs scored in each situation. I'm guessing the bases loaded with walks in the first inning would be a lower average.
He has had a nice career 41 WAR but when Heyward came up I thought he was going to be one of the best players in the league for years to come.
F you’re going to use a pitcher on 3 days rest make it a reliever who only threw 30-45 pitches. Maybe 50 at worst. Don’t get the decision.

I'm guessing the media want to be sure they have enough games on Monday and Thursday the two days of the week that have most of the off days. Maybe too many teams have two game series this week to leave time for make-up games, and the
Reds were scheduled, before the final schedules was finalized, to be a 3 game Tu,W,Th series and the Reds wanted a game on Labor Day so the league accommodated them, but they had to play Thursday also.
I love Redszone and its game thread contributors almost as much as my signed John Stuper baseball cap but, for the love of Ty Cline, with all of the problems the Reds have had this season , pissing all over Santiago Espinal might be the clearest case of displaced frustration that I ever seen. The guy's been one of the bright spots in a season that is being swallowed up by black holes.

This is the Astros' 18th straight game. That is one long stretch.
They have 14 pitchers. At this point just work out a schedule where 4 guys pitch every 3rd or 4th day. Keep them around 40 pitches.
That leaves 2 guys in reserve in case a 5th pitcher is needed in a game.
I appreciate the realism but India’s postgame just kept alluding to their team goal was to get to .500 for the season
If that’s the goal then how about they just care about winning the next game and quit looking down the road…because that goal sucks
