The Reds are clearly better than the Astros, aren't they?

The only group that mailed in the last for innings more than RZ posters…..was the Reds players. All good, love ho-hum wins.

What is the probability that we close out the season on a 25-game winning streak?

Wish they played them all the time, but not for this reason, but because the Astros are as good as any team gets and it makes the games they are playing right now meaningful and fantastic learning opportunities.

Wish the REDS were playing the Astros in the World Series this year.

    Maybe next year.

They would have to cheat us to win.

    Lance McAlister's Game Recap
    Cincinnati Reds 12 Astros 5
Reds scored nine 1st inning runs in winning their third straight. They led 9-0 and 12-1.

That’s eight straight wins vs the Astros and an incredible 50 wins in their last 69 meetings. It’s also their 20th series win in the last 25 vs Houston.

    Reds 1st inning: 13 batters, 9 R, 7 H, 2 1B, 2 2B, HR, 3 BB, 2 SB…hit for 26-minutes. Elly’s 1st: 2 H, 2 R, 2 RBI, SB.

It’s the Reds most first inning runs since a 9-run 1st in 2002 vs the Padres.

Houston starter Spencer Arrighetti: 0.2 IN, 9 R. The August AL Rookie of the Month had not allowed a run over his previous two starts vs Phillies/Orioles, and allowed just seven runs over five August starts.

    Offense: 14 H

Elly: 3 H, 2 2B, 3 R, 2 RBI, SB (62). Team record 20th game this season w/ at least one extra-base hit and at least one SB. Joe Morgan had 19 (‘75). First SB in 10 games.

    France: 3 H, R, RBI, SB….had 7 for 7 stretch
    Stephenson: 2 H, 3 RBI

India: HR (14), 2 BB, 3 R. 11th career leadoff HR. 2nd team history to Pete Rose (18)

    Friedl: 2 H, 2B, 2 RBI. 23 RBI last 29 games.
Espinal: 2 BB. Heck of a play at 3B/snag by France at 1B.
    Rosario: H, 2 R, 2 RBI

France (1) and Jake Fraley (18) pulled off a double steal. The second SB of France’s career.

Martinez: 5.2 IN, 4 R, 1 ER, season high 107 pitches. He went 26:00 and 21:00 between pitches while the Reds were hitting in the 1st and 5th innings.

Suter: 3.1 IN, R.....providing back to back off days for rest of the pen. 2nd career save.

    1st India HR, 1-0 Reds
    1st Friedl RBI 2B, 2-0 Reds
    1st France RBI 1B, 3-0 Reds
    1st Rosario 2-R 2B, 5-0 Reds

Re: 9-4-24 Reds vs Astros 6:40 PM

50 and 19 vs Houston is absolutely mind-blowing. The Astros probably never want to see the Reds again.

Has to be a reverse Oswalt curse, or something.
