Reds own the Astronomicals. What is it, now, something like seven straight wins against these cheaters?

That's a pretty good lineup right now.

Wish they played them all the time, but not for this reason, but because the Astros as as good as any team gets and it makes the games they are playing right now meaningful and fantastic learning opportunities.

Been a really weird season. Played extremely well against goliaths like the Phillies , Braves, Dodgers, Yankees and Astros. Played very poorly against some real bottom feeders.

The only answer to that is the goliaths get complacent when they face the likes of Cincinnati, while the Reds get inspired playing a top team.

I think it shows their potential against the good teams, while losing to the bad teams shows their immaturity.

The Reds have beaten the top teams. LA, NY, Philly. The Reds have beaten the bottom feeders. Mia, Col, Whitesox. The Reds haven't beaten the middle of the pack teams near enough. They beat the best teams and they beat the worst teams. Now figure out how to beat the rest of MLB.

We've played some decent ball against good teams and some abysmal ball against some not so good teams:

Swept series against Braves in Atlanta, Yankees in NY , Dodgers in Cincy

Got swept by Seattle in 3 game series

Got swept by Detroit in 3 game series

Got swept by Washington in 3 game series

Lost 2 of 3 to Oakland

Lost 7 of 10 on season to Pittsburgh.

    Yeah but overall -

Reds are 1 over .500 against teams under .500.

Reds are 8 under .500 against teams at or over .500.

I sense that disparity has narrowed recently but haven’t checked.

Astros couldn't beat the Reds if they had Jose Cruz , Cesar Cedeno , Enos Cabell, Jeff Bagwell, Craig Biggio, Lance Berkman, and the Toy Cannon, all in their prime.

Unless.... Roy Oswalt was on the bump. Then we're screwd.
