It would be great to know what makes this offense go.

I wonder if Schmidt still holds the Riverfront stadium opponent HR record?
He played his entire career during the Riverfront ERA so I'm guessing he does.

Looked to me like Arrighetti might be wearing down like Abbott did or he was hiding a injury from the Houston coaching staff.

Anyone recall a Reds-Astros game back in the 80s, I believe, where the Reds scored 14 runs in the first?

Rose was quoted as saying that he played for 1 run and got 14.

Yes I remember listening to it on radio. 1989 I believe and at the time half the team was injured. I believe it was after Rose got suspended. Late in year late August or early September I believe. But it could well have been before Rose got suspended.

My bad, it was against the Dodgers.
Damn... there goes one of my trivia pieces. LOL Don't worry, I have a heck of a backup for you all tonight. Perfectly suited for this particular night.

Btw, yes, I remember the 14 run inning well. Remember right where I was and what I was doing during that game.

I think all the hits that inning were singles.

I was at a Dodgers-Reds game late 70s or early 80s. Where the Reds came back and won. Scoring 8 or 9 runs in the 8th or 9th inning with zero extra base hits. Wasn't a world series year. Maybe 1980
