    Boyle County(KY) 38 #12 St. Edward(Lakewood, OH) 21

Huge, Huge upset in high school football today. The #12 team in the country goes down at home to the Rebels from Danville, KY. Some are saying this upset is on the scale of the Appy St/Michigan game. I watched the entire game. Boyle was the better team. They are a machine. I know their coach. He formerly coached my high school team in Corbin for several seasons. Great win for KY high school football fans over a nationally ranked Ohio powerhouse on their field. Were it not for an obvious PI penalty in the endzone being waved off and had time not run out, Boyle would have won 49-21 . They were inside St Ed's 10 when the clock expired.

Boyle County is a really good program. So is Danville for that matter. Not sure what's in the water down there.

This game was definitely no fluke , imo. St Edward trounced Philadelphia St Joseph's Prep last week. St. Joes's was the top ranked team in Pennsylvania and have been ranked as high as #9 nationally in some polls. Quite a statement win for Boyle County on Saturday.

Ironically, the Boyle County-St. Ed’s game only happened because Danville doesn’t want Boyle County on their schedule anymore.

Great win - St. Edward opened with a win over Pickerington North here in Columbus. Pick North is always very good, nationally ranked some years.

After their big win over Ohio powerhouse St Edward, Boyle County skyrockets into the national rankings. They are #14 in the USA TODAY top 25.

LOL No, all the rest of their games are against KY schools. They play Scott County(Georgetown, KY) this Friday. The only real challenge left for them in the regular season is Lexington Frederick Douglass late in the season. My high school(Corbin) plays Douglass in Lexington in a couple weeks.

They're 4A, so they won't get St. X, Trinity or Male in the playoffs, either.

I live in Lakewood, not sure they deserved that ranking this year. They graduated their entire OL. 3/5 of which went to OSU and Michigan
