Looks like a nice day out there anyway. Enjoy the good weather.

I have to go and get on that long lonesome road back to north central Maryland. No miracles asked for this one. Just enjoy the game for what it is. This season is nearly over.

I agree that the hitting needs improvement but remember that the Reds hitters aren't hitting against the Reds pitchers.

I think Hinds is a mirage that should only be a fringe piece of the 2025 plan, but yeah!

Blake Dunn has doubled his number of times on base for the season, got his first steal, his first HR, his first RBI and raised his OPS by .300 points. Glad for him, but I'd still DFA when the season ends.

I knew if Aguilar got hit today it would get ugly because I knew once he gave up 5 it would be Zulueta and Leibrandt. Had Aguilar kept it close the more expirenced relievers would have pitched.

Aguiar had an FIP of 6.32 coming into today with a 1.5 K/BB ratio (awful) and 2 HR per 9 innings (worse than awful). I hope people are figuring out that he isn't a rotation option for 2025.

    From Lance McAlister

Cincinnati Reds acquired Amed Rosario August 18.

Fans: "He's actually a .300 hitter. He should play every day!"

    Rosario 0 for last 12, 6 K, batting .172 with Reds

    Fans: "Whyyyyyyy is Rosario playing??????"

I couldn't believe he was hitting. 300. I knew he was never a great hitter. So I checked into it. His expected batting average was .253 I think at the time I looked him up.
So just like Espinal during his 2 month streak. Rosario was extremely lucky. Looks like every blooper he hit fell for a hit prior to being a Red.
Was never a fan of Rosario. I am a Espinal fan but try to look at him realistically. I don't think he will hit close to what he did this season in 25.
He barely over .200 this year if you take out his 2 month hitting streak.
He is probably a .240-.260 hitter going forward. So very solid reserve with his glove is factored in.

I still had fun spending the day at the ball park. Despite the outcome.
Got to see Dunn hit his first HR and had a great game. Elly got 3 hits.
And in over 250 games I've attended in my life I'm still 11 games over .500.
I've kept a record since I was 8 years old.
Now with the mlb ball park App. I can enter dates off all the games I've attended and it will show me the boxscores.
Highly recommend anyone who likes to keep track of games you have gone to, to use that app.
