Eagles Open Residency at Las Vegas' SPHERE Last Weekend(SEPT 20-21)

Quite a venue. Pretty immersive experience, it seems. Some pretty cool innovative visuals. Henley can't sing anymore but he can pick your pocket while you are hypnotized by the visual effects. Could anyone even imagine a concert experience like this when the band started some 52+ years ago?

If you can score tickets, they'll run you between $263 - $373 per stub, depending on which concert you choose to attend. The lineup consist of Mime Henley, Timothy D. Schmit, Deacon Frey, Vince Gill, and Joe Walsh. With their opening weekend completed, the Eagles will play a total of nine more two show stints at the eye-popping , game-changing venue in Sin City. The shows will run through January 25, 2025.

Will you consider attending one of these shows?

Here's the opening song from night two of the opening weekend. I think you will probably recognize it.

I would consider it, just to see Joe Walsh and Vince Gill. Have always loved both of those guys.

    Glen Fry is dead.

    Randy Meisner is dead

Don Felder is… idk… not with the group anyway.

It’s not “The Eagles.” It’s Don Henley and some dudes.

    Hard pass.

And Vince Gill was better in Pure Prairie League

Vince was just a baby in PPL. I do agree with you about the Eagles, minus Frey and Meisner, but come on, Joe Walsh is something more than just a dude. The guy kicks ass on that guitar.

Randy Meisner was my guy. My favorite Eagle, by far. "Take it to the Limit" was his song. Vince does it justice but no one comes close to Meisner. CHILLS every time when he nails that last note.

That's a lot of money to hear some drunk next to me try and sing along.

Absolutely and I like their vocals too. Joe definitely doesn’t sing like a songbird, but he does have a very unique voice. Now Vince on the other hand, has a great voice and can harmonize fantastically.

Have a good friend who went there for Saturday's show. He's a big Eagles fan (had I known this years ago he would have had to try a lot harder to be my friend) and he said the venue was amazing.... the music... well... Joe Walsh calling others out for missing their cues and then blaming the fact they are old seemed to be the joke they used over and over again.

Personally, the Eagles would have to chase me down and tie me to a chair at gunpoint to make he sit through a concert.... Almost as bad as Springsteen they are.

Seriously, he paid a crap load for the tickets and said the venue was off the chart. Music was so-so... and he's a fan.

Thanks for posting, Dave. That's kinda what I gathered from watching videos of the event. The venue looks absolutely incredible. I would seriously consider shelling out the dough because of the venue, alone. I wouldn't expect the music to be much more than just par. Hell, who knows if Henley and Walsh are actually singing all of their parts. Once a mime, always a mime.

"Take it to the Limit" this past weekend at the Sphere in Vegas. RIP , Mr Meisner. Gill is fine but he is no Randy Meisner on this song.

Not for a thousand dollars, the band is not intact.

This is exactly what I said in my head when Pedro tried t get me to go see Dead and Company in August there, for this "band" it would be a million bucks

Save $150 or $200 and just go see Postcard from Earth there.
