If you know the pain of having only the left bar and nothing to go with it-- or perhaps a handful of 9s and 10s and no trump, you know the basic premise of euchre.

If you haven't gone alone with one big trump, a 9, a 10, and a couple of side queens, then you haven't lived.

Why does the hiring of Terry Francona give me this eerie feeling like the Bucks' hiring of Doc Rivers? Was it to appease the fans short-term?

I'm hoping that Francona turns out to be more like Gene Hackman in Hoosiers and not like Doc Rivers in MIL.

I don't like this analogy at all.

During his first team talk, Francona discusses the 2025 fielding position strategy using plastic bottles.

My god I love him. All of you need to watch this video. (Also: Sean Casey looks good *and* weird at the same time.)

This was a really great segment with Tito. He's already my favorite Reds manager since Sweet Lou, and I think highly of Dusty. I like the part where he said Elly has outran some of his mistakes, and talked about marrying the aggressive style with playing smart as well. You can tell Tito likes teaching and helping players get better.

Francona's comment on not making mistakess in assessing spring training results in selecting the ML roster.

I always enjoy the knowledge of members of this board on Reds of the past and I expect many of you can name the selected new players for the opening day roster who were soon identified as "mistakes."

Re: Terry Francona is the Reds' new manager

I'd love to be a fly on the wall to see what Francona is thinking while watching video and reading the internal reports on players such as Marte and CES.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.
